Korean Address Converter to English FAQ

What is the Korean Address Converter?

The Korean Address Converter helps you search Korean addresses and get an English address format with a postal code. You can search by Korean address, English road-name keyword, building number, or postal code.

Can I enter an address in English?

Yes. You can enter an English road-name keyword such as "Sejong-daero" or "110 Sejong-daero" to search for matching Korean address results and get the English address format.

Can I enter a Korean address?

Yes. You can enter a Korean road-name address, land-lot address, partial address, or postal code. For example, you can search with "서울특별시 중구 세종대로 110" or "세종대로 110."

Is this a translation tool?

Not exactly. This tool does not simply translate text. It searches address data and shows the matching English address format, postal code, road address, and lot address when available.

What is a Road Address?

A Road Address is Korea's road-name address format. It usually includes the building number, road name, district, city or province, postal code, and country. This is the main address format recommended for most forms, hotels, delivery, and documents.

What is a Lot Address?

A Lot Address is the older land-lot based address format. Some Korean services, maps, or local references may still show lot addresses, so ComeKR displays it when available.

What is the Zip Code?

The Zip Code is Korea's postal code. It is shown separately because many hotel forms, delivery forms, and travel documents have a separate postal code field.

Can I copy the Zip Code?

Yes. Click the Copy button next to the Zip Code if you want to paste it into a separate postal code field.

How do I copy the English address?

Click the Copy button next to the Road Address. This copies the English road address so you can paste it into hotel forms, delivery forms, travel documents, or notes.

Can I add a room number, hotel name, or apartment details?

Yes. Click Add details under the address result. You can enter details such as room number, hotel name, apartment number, building name, or unit number.

What happens after I add details?

ComeKR creates a full address using your detail address and the selected Road Address. You can then copy the full address with one click. Example: Room 1203, Hotel ABC / 110 Sejong-daero, Jung-gu, Seoul, 04524 / Republic of Korea.

When should I use Add details?

Use Add details when you need to include a hotel name, room number, apartment number, building name, office number, or unit number. This is useful for hotels, deliveries, travel forms, and documents.

Should I use the Road Address or Lot Address?

In most cases, use the Road Address. The Lot Address is provided as extra reference when available.

Can I use this address for hotel forms?

Yes. Use the Road Address as the main address. If the hotel form has a separate postal code field, enter the Zip Code separately. If you need to include a room number or hotel name, use Add details and copy the generated full address.

Can I use this address for delivery in Korea?

Yes, but delivery forms may ask for address fields separately. Use the Road Address as the main address, enter the Zip Code in the postal code field, and add room, apartment, building, or unit details when needed.

Can I use this address for official documents?

You can use the English address format as a reference for travel forms or documents. However, if a document requires an officially issued address certificate, check the requirements of the organization requesting it.

Why do I see multiple address results?

Some keywords can match more than one place. Check the road name, district, city, and postal code before copying the address.

What should I do if I cannot find my address?

Try searching with fewer words, the road name only, the building number with road name, or the postal code. If you entered a detailed room number or apartment unit, remove it and search only the main address first.

Can I show this address to a taxi driver?

For taxi use, a Korean address or map link may be more helpful than an English address. Use the Korean or View map option when available.

What should I put in Address Line 1 for a Korean address?

Use the base road-name address, usually without room, floor, hotel room, apartment unit, or building detail.

What should I put in Address Line 2?

Use the detailed address such as floor, room number, apartment building, unit number, hotel room, or office name.

Can I use a hotel address for Korean delivery?

Usually yes if the hotel accepts delivery, but ask the hotel first and include your name, reservation name, room detail if available, and phone number.

Why does a Korean form ask for postal code first?

Many Korean address forms use the postal code to find and lock the base road-name address before you enter the detailed address.

Should I write the address in Korean or English?

Use the language requested by the form. Korean forms often work best with Korean road-name addresses, while international forms may accept English road-name addresses.

Why Korean addresses feel different

Korean addresses can be confusing for first-time visitors and new residents. Korea uses a road-name address system that replaced the older lot-number system as the official standard, but you will still encounter both formats on websites, delivery forms, and older business cards.

When you book a hotel, order from a Korean shopping site, register for a delivery service, or fill out a travel document, the address fields rarely match what you are used to back home. Korea writes the largest unit first, then district, road name, building number, and finally the detailed address such as floor, room, or unit.

How to use this converter

Paste or type the Korean address you received from a hotel, host, shop, map app, or official source. The tool helps you identify the road address, lot address, postal code, and English address format when matching data is available.

Copy the formatted result into the exact field the form is asking for. If the form has separate fields, use the postal code in the postal code field, the road address in the main address field, and hotel name, room number, apartment, floor, or unit details in the detailed address field.

Korean form field examples are easier to follow when you split the address into postal code, base address, detailed address, recipient, and phone fields.

English form field examples are easier to follow when you split the address into Address Line 1, Address Line 2, City, Postal Code, and Country.
