A place where two streams merge Dumul bridge was newly constructed during the restoration of the Cheonggyecheon Stream in 2005, and it means 'the bridge where two streams merge'. This was where the Cheonggyecheon Stream in the Joseon Dynasty merged with the Jeongneungcheon Stream, which flows down from the Samgaksan Valley. Therefore, not only the name of the bridge but the shape of it also symbolized the two streams merging together. Today, downwards the Dumul Bridge to the direction of Gosanjagyo Bridge, there is the confluence of Cheonggyecheon and Jeongneungcheon Stream. The wall of proposal Under the Dumul Bridge, there is the ‘wall of proposal’. This is the place where people propose to their lovers through projecting messages or videos on a large screen, and the success rate is almost a hundred percent. Just like the Cheonggyecheon and Jeongneungcheon Stream that merge with each other at the Dumul Bridge, those lovers also become one. Marriage proposals are held under this bridge every Wednesday through Saturday, from 6 to 10 p.m.
