Description
This place allows you to walk along the green forest path and view the blue ocean simultaneously. The multicolored rocky coast boasts its beauty formed by years of crashing waves. We’re talking about Taejongdae Park at the southern end of Yeongdo, Busan. Taejongdae was named after King Taejong Muyeol of Silla, who used to stop by the region and practice archery as he was mesmerized by the beauty of the landscape. Taejongdae Park, where unique rocks are formed and visitors are greeted by the dense forest surrounded by the deep blue ocean, is a leading travel destination in Korea. Most visitors use the Danubi Train, adorned with a cute exterior, circulating the Taejongdae Recreation Area Road. Walk 5 min from the main gate tourist information center to see the Danubi Train Ticket Booth and platform, and make sure to check the discount benefits. After departing, you can conveniently get off at the numerous stops along the beltway. Besides the train, you can also leisurely walk on the natural tunnel formed by trees. You can go anywhere with a pair of sneakers and Taejongdae’s well-organized beltway and walking trail. Pass by Taewon Pebble Beach and Namhang Viewing Point to reach the first stop of the Danubi Train, the Observatory Rest Area. Most of the visitors on the train get off here. It is a must-visit observatory point when traveling to Taejongdae Park and a place where you can take awesome pictures. At the observatory, you can view as far as Oryukdo Islets and Tsushima Island when the sky is clear. Below the stairs next to the observatory is the Yeongdo Lighthouse where the light has never been extinguished since 1906. In 2004, the space was renovated into a maritime culture space equipped with the See & Sea Gallery, Observatory, Natural History Museum, and Café. The Sinseon Rock below the lighthouse has a sad legend in which a wife who had been waiting for her husband who sailed out to the ocean was turned into a Mangbuseok Rock. Taejongdae Park has an excellent observatory point that looks out into the ocean and a well-organized maritime pebble yard and a connecting stairway path. Travelers get excited at the changing scenery as they walk around. Despite being located near the city, the place feels like it’s less tainted by the dirt of the world.
