Hanhwa Aqua Planet Yeosu is the second largest aquarium in Korea and the first to be built entirely aboveground. Opened in 2012 with the Yeosu World Expo, the aquarium is an environmentally friendly building, using solar power for most of its energy use. The aquarium is divided into different sections such as Ocean Life, Marine Life, and Aqua Forest, as well as a hands-on experience zone.
