Onyang Hot Springs is the oldest hot springs complex in Korea, a place where the kings of Joseon (1392-1897) recuperated and bathed, thanks to its proximity to Seoul. In the 1970s and 1980s, it was a popular honeymoon destination. The water here has a temperature of about 44-60℃ and contains substances that are beneficial for the human body. The area boasts a large number of hotels and water parks.

The Order of St. Benedict Waegwan Abbey, established by monks from the German Order of St. Benedict, serves as a sanctuary of peace and spirituality in South Korea. These monks sought refuge during the Korean War, fleeing religious persecution following the closure of the Abbey of the Holy Cross at Yenki in Manchuria and Tokwon Abbey in North Korea. In adherence to the teachings and spirit of St. Benedict, the monks at Waegwan Abbey dedicate themselves to a life of work and prayer, actively participating in Catholic evangelization and social work. Additionally, they contribute to the community through various initiatives, including publishing and printing at Bundo Book, managing farms, and running educational projects.

Oryukdo Islets consist of six rocky islets located in the sea at the southern end of Igidae Park, appearing as either five or six depending on the tide. The islets, closest to the mainland, are named Bangpaeseom Island, Solseom Island, Suriseom Island, Songgotseom Island, Gulseom Island, and Deungdaeseom Island, with only the Deungdaeseom Island accessible to visitors. From the Oryukdo Skywalk at Oryukdo Sunrise Park, visitors can enjoy even better views of the islets.

Oryukdo Skywalk is located at what was called Seungdumal, meaning a saddle, due to the shape of the point. It was also called Jallokgae by residents and haenyeo (female divers) in the area. The construction of Oryukdo Skywalk began on September 12, 2012, at the Seungdumal area, which is regarded as the dividing point between the East Sea and the South Sea, and the skywalk opened on October 18, 2013, with the theme of "walking over the sky. Iron columns were set up over a 35-meter-high coastal cliff, and a 15-meter glass bridge comprised of 24 glass plates and shaped like a horse’s hoof connect the iron columns. The glass flooring was made by four layers of 12-millimeter glass panels coated with a bulletproof film for a total thickness of 55.49 millimeters, making the structure quite safe. Visitors will be thrilled with the view of the waves while looking down through the transparent floor. The sea stretches out ahead of the skywalk, perfect for a photo op.

Oryukdo Sunrise Park, situated in the Yongho-dong area of Busan, offers a breathtaking view of the vast sea, especially in spring when the fields are covered with daffodils and canola flowers. Oryukdo Skywalk, a 15-meter-long glass bridge above the sea, provides the best view of Oryukdo Islets. This is also the place where the East Sea and the South Sea meet, known as Jallokgae or Seungdumal. Visitors can find a signboard below the skywalk marking the point where the east and south sea meet. From here, the Haeparang Trail stretches 770 kilometers along the East Sea and Namparang Trail stretches 1,463 kilometers along the South Sea.

Osaek Mineral Spring is situated 20 kilometers west of Yangyang and 7.5 kilometers southeast from Hangyeryeong Pass. The water, which springs from three base rocks by a brook, is carbonated and rich in iron. Up to 1,500 liters of iron-rich water spring out on a daily basis. Osaek became well known due to the splendid landscape leading up to the mineral spring and its location on the way to the summit of Seoraksan Mountain.

As the name suggests, it is a place where anyone can rest and read a book in the metasequoia forest. If you sit in the same spot and take a picture, you can get a nice photo. The Owen Monument and Memorial Hall is located inside the Christian College of Nursing. The monument was erected in 1914 in memory of missionary Clement Owen who, together with Priest Bae Yoo-ji, was the first missionary to come to Jeollanam-do. The monument was built using the 4,200 dollars collected by Owen’s relatives in the USA after Owen died as a martyr in Gwangju.Clement Owen came to Yangnim-dong, Gwangju in the 1900s and served as a missionary and medical volunteer with his wife, who was a nurse, before dying of exhaustion and overwork in 1909. Owen had hoped to build a memorial hospital in honor of his grandfather, but died before his plan was materialized. The plaque hanging in the hall honors both men in English and Chinese, reading, “In Memory of William L. and Clement C. Owen.”A Western-style building with a total footage of around 1,435 meters squared (including the annex building), the monument is said to have been used as chapel and assembly room. Today, the building serves as the auditorium of the Christian College of Nursing. The white, two-story building features a lectern in one corner, with two columns of pews facing the lectern. The second floor balcony stretches along the two walls opposite the lectern.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm – movie “Love, Lies,”In the film, So-yul and Yeon-hee come here to see the renowned singer Lee Nan-young perform. Owen Memorial Hall has a history as a venue for Christian gatherings, lectures, concerts, graduation ceremonies, and various cultural events in the region. Padori Beach, located at the westernmost point of the Taeanbando Peninsula, overlooks the Yellow Sea. It features both a sandy shore and a pebble beach composed of small, rounded pebbles eroded by the sea, known as haeok. Collecting haeok for personal use is forbidden; however, they are available for purchase at the showroom. North of the beach, a wave-formed cave can be found. Sea bathing at the beach is permitted exclusively from July to August. Additionally, there is a campground nestled within the pine forest. ◎ Travel information discovering the charm of Hallyu - Drama “Padori Sea Cave” is a cave featured as the backdrop for Gyeongcheondaeho in Alchemy of Souls. Known as a popular photo spot, this natural cave is relatively shallow and consists of two connected caves, making it an ideal place to take stunning photos against the red sunset sky. Entry is only possible depending on the timing of the tides, and the path is quite rough, so sneakers and comfortable clothing are recommended.

The Padosori (Sound of the Waves) Trail stretches for 1.7 kilometers along the shoreline of Eupcheon-ri in Gyeongju, offering stunning views of the Gyeongju Yangnam Columnar Joint. The coastal road is well-maintained and features a decked pathway, benches, viewing platforms, and a suspension bridge. The Columnar Joint has diverse shapes; in particular, the fan-shaped columnar joint is a rare sight not only in Korea but also worldwide, and thus has been designated as a Natural Monument in 2012.
