Shrine for Prince Wolsan (월산대군사당)

Prince Wolsan, born Yi Jeong, was the elder brother of King Seongjong, the 9th ruler of the Joseon dynasty. He was regarded as an accomplished writer, with his reputation said to have extended even to China. King Seongjong is known to have frequently visited Prince Wolsan’s residence, where he named a pavilion Pungwoljeong after the prince’s pen name. The prince is also remembered for his loyalty and close fraternal bond with the king. Adjacent to the shrine lies Prince Wolsan’s tomb. The shrine itself was established before 1693, with the current structures reconstructed in 1786. Preserved within the shrine is a small palanquin known as a yoeo, which was used to carry the prince’s spirit tablet.
Sibipokpo Falls (이폭포(12폭포))
Guseok-ri, Nami-myeon, Geumsan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do
Sibipokpo Falls is a series of 12 ("sibi" in Korean) waterfalls in a valley of Seongchisan Mountain in Geumsan. Visitors can see the falls of various sizes by walking on the hiking trail as it winds its way through the forest along the stream. The path is accessible from the parking lot by Seongchisan Rest Area. Nearby attractions include Simcheon Wellbeing Recreational Forest and Yongdamho Lake.

Sigyeongjeong Pavilion (담양 식영정)
Jigok-ri, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do
Designated as the top monument of Jeollanam-do, Sigyeongjeong Pavilion means a place where even the shadow of the moon can find a place to rest. As its name suggests, this pavilion is set in a lush and remote forested area. Countless number of scholars and writers have been attracted to this pavilion as a place of profound inspiration. The pavilion gained more fame from the legendary lyrics of Seongsanbyeolgok written by the poet Jeong Cheol. The elegant words of Kim Seongwon, a literary scholar, depict the scenic beauty of Seongsan Mountain as the seasons change. Of all the pavilions situated at the basin of the Yeongsangang River the Sigyeongjeong Pavilion is said to be blessed with a breathtaking view from the side. The current building was restored in the early 1900s. At the Sigyeongjeong Pavilion there is the Buyongdang, a monument with the lyrics to the Seongsanbyeolgok Poem, and next to it an old library building called Jangseogak built to preserve the wooden blocks of Songgangjib, a book of poetry written by Jeong Cheol.
Siheung Baegot Hanul Park Seawater Pool (시흥배곧한울공원 해수체험장)

Siheung Baegot Hanul Park Seawater Pool is a captivating water playground situated within Siheung Baegot Hanul Park. The area is adorned with palm trees and shade canopies, lending an exotic ambiance to it. This summer-only facility offers forty five-minute play sessions, each followed by a fifteen-minute break. It can accommodate up to 1,000 guests per session on a first-come, first-served basis, and admission is exclusively through card payments. For safety reasons, due to the potentially slippery surfaces, visitors are required to wear aqua shoes.
Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park (시흥 갯골생태공원)

Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park in Gyeonggi-do features the nation's only inland beach along the shores of a river that ebbs and flows with the ocean tide. The park offers the chance to learn about the traditional salt-making techniques, as well as the many unique flora that grow here. The park was designated as a National Ocean Wetland Protection Zone in February 2012.
Sikjangsan Cultural Park (Sunrise Observatory) (식장산 문화공원(해돋이전망대))

Sikjangsan (623.6 meters) is a mountain spanning three regions - Dong-gu of Daejeon, Gunbuk-myeon and Gunseo-myeon of Okcheon-gun. As the tallest peak in the city located in the southeastern part of Dong-gu, Daejeon, it stands proudly next to great mountains in neighboring regions such as Seodaesan, the tallest peak in Chungcheongnam-do (904 meters), and Daeseongsan, the tallest in Okcheon (705 meters). Home of a 4.82 million-square-meter large, natural ecosystem preservation forest designated by the city, Sikjangsan is an ecological repository featuring plants of 224 species, 45 varieties, 187 genera, and 78 families; 45 kinds of mammals such as roe deer, squirrels, wildcats, raccoons and bats; over 100 types of birds; reptiles; and amphibians. Sikjangsan Cultural Park is an ecological park that continues from Secheon Park to Sikjangsan Sunrise Observatory. The cultural park was established at the peak of the mountain, which had been regarded as one of the best nightscape viewpoints in Daejeon. A traditional tower built inside the cultural park adds a sense of classical dignity. An observatory from which the entire city can be seen in a single view is also located here. People of all ages and genders visit the tower and observatory to enjoy the expansive view of Daejeon.

Silleuk Temple Resort (신륵사관광지)

The Silleuksa Temple Resort features countless relics and remains, awe-inspiring scenery, the Geumeun Sand Zone, and Silleuksa Temple. Silleuksa Temple is also referred to as the byeokjeol (‘walled temple’ because it has a pagoda made entirely of bricks). The pagoda was erected by the renowned Buddhist monk Wonhyo during the Silla Kingdom, and is visited by many who are drawn to the beautiful natural scenery along the banks of the Namhangang River, which is served by convenient transportation.

Simgokseowon Confucian Academy (심곡서원)
16-9 Simgok-ro, Suji-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do
Simgokseowon Confucian Academy is a traditional Joseon-era academy dedicated to the influential scholar Jo Gwang-jo (1482–1519). The academy architecturally notable for its classic layout, featuring a lecture hall in the front and a shrine in the back. Remarkably, it is the only academy honoring Jo Gwan-gjo that survived a 19th-century government decree to close such institutions, remaining perfectly preserved today. The site is easily accessible by city bus from Sanghyeon Station on Sinbundang Line. Its central location makes it a convenient stop when visiting nearby landmarks like the Korean Folk Village, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, or Everland.
