Sinsido Island is the largest of the 24 islands in the Gogunsan Island Cluster located 50 kilometers southwest of Gunsan. The highest point is Daegaksan Mountain (187 meters) on the northwest side and there is Sinchisan Mountain (142 meters) on the southeast side. Villagers tend to work in the fishing industry, catching shrimp, anchovies, hairtail, and mackerel. Farmers tend to grow rice, barley, sweet potato, chili, peas and more. The island can be reached by car and there are various activities available such as mud flats and fishing.

Sinsimodo Islands is comprised of the three islands of Sindo, Sido, and Modo. Referred to as brother islands, visitors can explore all three islands in one day on bicycle thanks to bridges that connect the islands together. Attractions on the islands include Gubongsan Mountain, Haedanghwa Dulle-gil Trail, Sugihaebyeon Beach, Baemikkumi Sculpture Park, and more. Gubongsan Mountain, located on Sindo Island, features a forest trail that is easy to walk on, making it easy to enjoy the azaleas and cherry blossoms that bloom each spring. Baemikkumi Sculpture Park, featuring artworks of Lee Ilho before the background of the sea, is especially popular among couples.

The city of Bupyeong is surrounded by Gyeyangsan Mountain, Cheolmasan Mountain, and Manwolsan Mountain, which all form a basin-shaped area in the center. Bupyeong slowly began to establish itself as a city after the opening of Gyeongin railway and the U.S. Army base established right after the Korean War. Sinteuri Park in Bupyeong 4(sa)-dong neighborhood is equipped with outdoor recreational facilities including a soccer field, tennis court, badminton court, children's playground, walking trail, and water fountain, spanning an impressive 58,594 ㎡. It also has a library with 1,500 seats, and a floor area of 7,869 ㎡. The park serves as a main recreational area for Bupyeong residents.

Sinyang Seopji Beach is not yet a popular tourist attraction, leaving the fine-grained, sandy beach relatively untouched. Thanks to its quiet atmosphere, the beach gives visitors a calmer, more secluded beach experience than some of the larger beaches on Jeju. The 80-meter-wide, crescent-shaped beach stretches for a total length of 300 meters. Bordered by waters that are only an average of one meter deep, the beach gently slopes at a five degree angle. Known for its small waves, the beach is the perfect spot for children. Windsurfing is available nearby and popular tourist attractions such as Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone and Seopjikoji are located in the area.

Site of Dongnaeeupseong Walled Town, built towards the end of the Goryeo dynasty and the early Joseon dynasty, was a significant fortress during the Imjin War in 1592. It served as the main battleground where civilians, officials, and soldiers united to resist the Japanese forces. Recognizing the strategic importance of the Dongnae area, a much larger fortress was constructed in 1731, replacing the original structure from one built during war. Today, only traces of the fortress remain, with the Bukmun Gate, Insaengmun Gate, Dongjangdae Command Post, Seojangdae Command Post, and Bukjangdae Command Post having been restored.

Sky Garden, located next to Incheon International Airport, becomes covered with pink cosmos flowers every fall. In addition to cosmos, silver grass and pink muhly are added to the 36,000 ㎡ gardens so that visitors can feel the season's mood. Recently, even orange cosmos have been planted so visitors can enjoy more vibrant colors. Above all, it is a flower garden that can be enjoyed for free, allowing anyone to visit anytime without any burden. Another attraction of Sky Garden is the sight of planes taking off and landing at Incheon International Airport. The sight of plane flying across the sky over the bed of flowers create a magical scenery. In the evening, the sunset of Yeongjongdo Island creates a romantic atmosphere, making it a good date course.

Soando Island was settled by the Oh Family of Dongbok and the Kim Family of Gimhae, who moved to the island during the Imjin War. It was a very patriotic island during the Japanese occupation, stated to have flown the Korean flag all-year round. Patriots like Song Nae-ho, who fought hard for Korean independence, are remembered on the island at Soan Independence Movement Hall. In addition, Mira-ri and Maengseong-ri Evergreen Forests, which have been designated as Natural Monuments No. 339 and No. 400 respectively, offer a breathtaking ocean view. Mira-ri Evergreen Forest, in particular, is famous for its unique mudflat pebbles. The waters around the island are also popular among fishermen nationwide.

Sobaeksan National Park was designated as the 18th national park in December 1987. The features of Sobaeksan National Park include wildflowers and royal azaleas in spring and snowy scenery in winter. The mountain borders three provinces and four cities. Attractions include various peaks, temples, and waterfalls. The mountain is especially popular in May when royal azaleas are in full bloom and a natural forest tunnel is formed. Birobong Peak of the mountain is covered with snow six months of the year and is called the Alps of Korea.

Located inside Sobaeksan National Park, the Sobaeksan National Park Nature Center specializes in ecological experiences and environmental education. The center operates various programs by leveraging the superb ecological system of the Sobaeksan Mountain area. Programs include Sobaeksan Mountain climbing and ginseng experiences for physical health; forest meditation for mental health; and wellness programs with a focus on visiting world heritage sites related to Buddhist culture, for social well-being. Other programs include seasonal ecotourism programs (short-term programs); environmental education for future generations; and cooking classes using local specialties to lead the way for ecological well-being. Additionally, the center has an auditorium & classrooms(for education, training or conferences), and a cafeteria. Individuals and group visitors can use the facilities. Nearby tourist destinations include the Red Fox Eco Park, where visitors can observe first-class endangered wild animals; and historical and cultural sites, such as Buseoksa Temple and Sosuseowon Confucian Academy, which were designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Located within the Sobaeksan National Park, the Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory (SOAO) was the first astronomy observatory in Korea to install a modern telescope. SOAO is in a great location to observe the stars because it is located on the highest point of southern Korea and far away from the light pollution of cities. To enter the observatory as a private visitor, one must climb the mountain from Jungnyeong Pass or Huibangsa Temple.
