Starpark, also known as Chilgapsan Astronomical Observatory, is nestled within Chilgapsan Provincial Park in Cheongyang-gun, Chungcheongnam-do. This observatory is a science museum with a focus on astronomy and space, catering to both the general public and students. Conveniently, it's just a five-minute walk from the parking area. The facility is housed in a three-story structure. On the first floor, visitors can enjoy a three-dimensional dome theater and an audiovisual room. The second floor houses a publicity center and an observation deck. The observatory’s main observation room is on the third floor and features Korea’s largest refracting telescope (APO 304 mm), which is used primarily for viewing sunspots and prominences during the day. Additionally, there’s an auxiliary observation room equipped with Korea's first 180-degree hemispherical three-stage sliding system. This room is designed for nighttime stargazing and is fitted with a 400-milimeter reflecting telescope for observing planets, star clusters, and nebulae. Children are particularly fond of the 12-meter geo-massive astronomical projection room, where they can experience 5D images. For those wishing to extend their visit, accommodations are available at Namcheon-ri Sanchon Ecological Village or nearby Alps Village. Staying in these locations provides easy access to both the Chilgapsan Astronomical Observatory and the Cheonjangho Suspension Bridge, making for a comprehensive educational and recreational experience.

The Statue of Admiral Yi Sun-Shin can be found at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul. Admiral Yi Sun-shin (1545-1598) was a naval commander who served during the Japanese invasion of Korea (also known as Imjin War: 1592-1598). The undefeated admiral achieved 23 victories against the Japanese navy using innovative tactics, and he is thus considered as one of the greatest generals in the history of Korea. Admiral Yi’s likeness can be found on the 100 won coin.

Suamgol Observatory offers panoramic views of Cheongju. The observatory is located in Suamgol, a neighborhood formed by refugees after the Korean War, which gained popularity as a filming location for the KBS drama "Bread, Love and Dreams (2010)." Nearby, visitors can explore Suamgol Mural Village, Drama Road, and Café Street. From the observatory, visitors enjoy sweeping views of the entire city, with especially beautiful scenery at night when Cheongju lights up. Suamsa Temple is located on the slopes of Byeokhwasan Mountain in Uiryeong. The approach is a remarkable 650-meter path leading to the Cheonwangmun Gate, flanked by 333 outdoor statues of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva crafted from jade stone — the largest collection of its kind in Asia. Beyond the Cheonwangmun Gate, the temple grounds unfold, revealing a series of halls. These include the Daejeokgwangjeon Hall with its Gilt-Bronze Ten-Thousand Buddhas, as well as the Geungnakjeon Hall, Gwaneumjeon Hall, and Buddhist Bell Pavilion.

Suanbo Hot Springs is believed to have flowed naturally since ancient times. Historical records show that it existed as early as the ninth year of King Hyeonjong of Goryeo, and the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty note that King Taejo visited the springs to treat a severe skin condition, highlighting its long history. Today, it is the only hot spring in Korea managed under a centralized system by the city of Chungju, with a strong focus on preserving its natural resources. The spring water, drawn from about 250 meters underground, is mildly alkaline and contains beneficial minerals such as calcium, sodium, fluoride, magnesium, and lithium. Foot baths using Suanbo’s mineral-rich water are known to promote circulation and metabolism, relax tense muscles, relieve fatigue and stress, and support restful sleep.
