Yeongam Wangin Culture Festival (영암왕인문화축제)

First held in 1997, the Yeongam Wangin Culture Festival is one of Korea’s leading Cultural Tourism Festivals and has been held every spring at the Historical Site of Wangin. Dr. Wangin played a pivotal role in cultural exchange across ancient East Asia. Through him, Baekje’s advanced culture and Confucian classics crossed the Korea Strait and reached the Japanese archipelago. His teachings represented far more than a transfer of knowledge; they became a driving force behind the emergence of Asuka culture, the golden age of ancient Japanese civilization. Wangin’s profound scholarship, together with the flowing Yeongsangang River and Sangdaepo Port, symbolizes the currents of exchange that carried culture across the sea. Here in Yeongam, visitors can rediscover the roots of Asuka culture.

Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival (영등포 여의도 봄꽃축제)

Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is held on Yeouiseo Road (Yunjung-ro) in April when the azaleas, forsythia, royal azaleas, and other spring flowers are in full bloom. The celebration is famous for its 1,886 Korean cherry trees.

Yeongdong Nangye Korean Traditional Music Festival (영동난계국악축제)

The Yeongdong Nangye Korean Traditional Music Festival is an annual performing arts festival dedicated to gugak, Korea’s traditional music and one of Yeongdong-gun’s most treasured cultural assets. The festival also honors the musical legacy of Nangye Park Yeon, one of Korea’s most renowned traditional musicians, while contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional performing arts. Building on the achievements of the 2025 Yeongdong World Traditional Music & Arts Expo, the 57th festival seeks to introduce gugak, a treasured element of Korea's cultural heritage, to a wider global audience and contribute to a new wave of global interest in Korean culture. As Korea’s only festival dedicated to traditional Korean music, it offers a wide range of performances and hands-on programs that reinterpret traditional performing arts for contemporary audiences. Through programs that reflect the unique character of Yeongdong, the festival also helps transform local cultural resources into a tourism assets. At the same time, it encourages community participation, enhances cultural engagement among residents, and serves as a vibrant celebration of local unity.

Yeongju Punggi Insam Festival (경북영주 풍기인삼축제)

Ginseng is a well-known traditional Korean medicinal herb. High quality ginseng in Korea is mostly produced in Punggi, a region in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and the place where the Punggi Ginseng Festival takes place. The festival features health-related exhibits and offers opportunities to taste healthy ginseng dishes at the ginseng cooking exhibition. Visitors can also participate in Punggi ginseng-related interesting activities such as making Punggi ginseng wine and peeling ginseng in the traditional Korean way. The festival offers a variety of ginseng products, including fresh ginseng, original ginseng, red ginseng, and ginseng processed foods, which are all grown by local farmers in Yeongju and sold at reasonable prices. Additionally, the festival showcases local specialties and symbols such as ginseng and Yeongju apples through oil lantern displays along Namwoncheon Stream. With so many attractions, visitors are sure to have a great time at the festival.

Yeosu Hyangiram Sunrise Festival (여수 향일암일출제)

Hyangiram Sunrise Festival is an annual overnight festival that begins on New Year's Eve. It takes place at the historic Hyangiram Hermitage, which was built in the year 644. As the New Year's Day dawns, visitors can witness the sun rise above the horizon from Hyangiram, which literally means "a hermitage facing the sun."

Yesan Jangteo Three Kingdoms Festival (예산장터 삼국축제)

The Yesan Jangteo Three Kingdoms Festival revolves around three themes: chrysanthemums, Korean rice soup, and noodles. Visitors can enjoy a variety of foods and experience the culture unique to Yesan Market.

Yongsan Youth Festival (용산청년축제)

The Youngsan Youth Festival, a wellness-themed event, invites both youths and residents to take the initiative for their well-being by achieving a balanced state of mental, physical, and social health. During the festival, visitors can enjoy dance performances, shows by popular singers, magic shows, traditional Korean music ensembles, and a commemorative ceremony featuring congratulatory remarks.
