Wonju Sangwonsa Temple (상원사(원주)
930, Seongnam-ro, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do
Sangwonsa Temple is located at the foot of Namdaebong Peak (1,182 m) on the southern tip of Chiaksan Mountain and is built atop a flat rock floor with an area of around 330 m2. Cool spring water shoots up from a crack on a rock before the temple and a 40 meter-tall cliff is located in front of it while three rare katsura trees stand at the tip of the cliff. The story of a pheasant returning a favor, which became the origin tale of Chiaksan, is a myth created at this temple. Though it is not clearly known when Sangwonsa was first constructed, it is believed to have been built during the Silla Dynasty considering the stone pagodas and other relics at the temple. The two stone pagodas in front of the sanctuary add greater magnificence to the beauty of the Buddhist temple in the heart of an old mountain. The temple is designated as a Gangwon-do Cultural Heritage Material.
Wonju Severance Christian Hospital (연세대학교 원주세브란스기독병원)

Wonju Severance Christian Hospital was established in November 1959 with the founding philosophy of 'spreading the gospel of Christ through medicine.' It was called Wonju United Christian Hospital at the time and had 50 beds. Over the years, it has contributed to promoting public health in the central region of Korea. To date, the hospital has opened and operates specialized centers, including the Regional Emergency Medical Center, Cardiovascular Center, Cancer Center, Diabetes Center, Gastroenterology Center, Respiratory Center, Cerebrovascular Center, Gamma Knife Center, Robotic Surgery Center, Tomotherapy Center, Implant Center, Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Center, Stem Cell Treatment Center, Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Center, and the Health Promotion Center. Notably, Wonju Severance Christian Hospital, which stands at the center of emergency medicine in Korea, is the leader in this discipline as it owns a medical helicopter and is a government-designated regional trauma center.
Wonju Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge (원주 소금산 출렁다리)

One of the main attractions of Wonju, Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge is the longest and largest pedestrian bridge in Korea with a length of 200 meters, a x_height of 100 meters, and a x_width of 1.5 meters. The thrill of walking midair is enough to make visitors come to this attraction. The skywalk next to the bridge offers an amazing view of the surroundings. With a protective deck at the entrance of the bridge, anyone who has the courage can walk on the bridge. Other attractions nearby include Wonju Railbike, Museum SAN, the Grave of Joeom, and more.
Wonju Sogeumsan Ulleong Bridge (원주 소금산 울렁다리)

Sogeumsan Ulleong Bridge is approximately twice as long as the original Sogeumsan Suspension Bridge, stretching 404 meters long, 2 meters wide. The name Ulleong comes from a Korean word that means "shaky" or "anxious," a feeling visitors will have as they cross the bridge with some parts being glass bottom. Visitors will be able to enjoy both the natural surroundings and thrilling walk across the bridge.

Wonseong Seongnam-ri Tutelary Forest (원성 성남리 성황림)

The Tutelary Forest in Sillim-myeon, Wonju is a temperate hardwood forest designated as a Natural Monument in 1962, and offers eco-exploration of the tutelary forest as well as forest commentary, meditation and experience programs. More than 90 different species of tree plants grow over an area spanning some 312,993 m2. The people of Seongnam-ri have treated Seonghwangsin of Chiaksan Mountain as the patron saint of the village since the ancient times. It is said that, at midnight of April 8 and September 9 every year on the Lunar calendar, people held rituals in front of the huge fir tree (29 meters tall, 1.3 meters in diameter, 300 years old) standing in front of Seonghwangdang Shrine to which Seonghwangsin descends. The Tutelary Forest is divided into two sections, each with different species of trees, by a brook in the middle. The area located to the left of the brook grows a variety of acervate deciduous broad-leaved trees, many of which are maple trees that paint the season of fall with gorgeous colors.

Woojebong Observatory (거제 우제봉전망대)

At Woojebong Observatory, which offers a panoramic view of Woojebong and Haegumgang, you can see the actual backdrop of the final scene where the character Park Pyeong-ho meets his fate in the movie "Hunt." The picturesque Haegumgang, which is one of Korea's 40 scenic spots, and the dense camellia forest path, create the trademark scenery of Woojebong Observatory.

Woosooyoung Tourist Attractions (우수영관광지)

Woosooyoung Tourist Attractions area became a national tourist site in 1986, and Memorial Park of Admiral Yi was added in 1991, serving as an educational site. The area overlooks Uldolmok, and features a shrine from the past that commemorates the great victory that was achieved by Admiral Yi Sun-Sin in the Battle of Myeongnyang (1597) and a large geobukbae (turtle ship). The area hosts a history festival every October and covers many history-related experience programs throughout the year.
Woraksan National Park (월악산국립공원)
1647, Mireuksonggye-ro, Jecheon-si, Chungcheongbuk-do
Woraksan National Park is located along the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range between Sobaeksan and Songnisan Mountains. The rugged mountain is softened by the waterfalls and small pools found within the valleys. The area was designated as a national park on December 31, 1984. The mountain is surrounded by Chungjuho Lake to the north, the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang and Sobaeksan Mountain to the east, and Mungyeongsaejae Pass and Songnisan Mountain to the south. The main peak of Woraksan National Park is Yeongbong Peak, reaching an altitude of 1,097 meters above sea level. The path there is steep, with sections of rock stretching 150 meters in x_height. There is also a 4-kilometer-long path circling the base rock.
World Cup Park (월드컵공원)

Opened on May 1st, 2002, the Wolrd Cup Park was once a 15-year-old landfill that held over 92 million tons of garbage. The park is located near Seoul World Cup Stadium, and is made up of five smaller parks - Pyeonghwa (Peace) Park, Haneul (Sky) Park, Noeul (Sunset) Park, Nanjicheon Park, and Nanji Hangang Park. * Pyeonghwa Park: Closest to Seoul World Cup Stadium, it holds a pond, garden, children’s playground, and forest. As a representative park of World Cup Park, the park was designed in hopes of peace and harmony between mankind and nature. It is often used as a picnic area and place for nature studies. * Nanji Hangang Park: Nanji Hangang Park was developed on the banks of the Hangang River. In contrast to other Hangang River parks, Nanji Hangang Park is a water-friendly park that has a gradual slope towards the riverbank. The park consists of a camping ground, soccer field, basketball court, grass field, cruise ship port, and an area for nature studies. * Haneul Park: Haneul Park consists of vast grassland located at the highest elevation of the five parks. The park's pasture is covered with eulalias and wild flowers in their most natural state. In addition, 30,000 butterflies of different species were introduced in 2000 to stabilize the ecosystem. Five wind-powered generators provide power to the park and the park’s maintenance office. Once a mountain of garbage, it is now a green hill with 22 lookout points offering breathtaking views of Seoul, including the N Seoul Tower, Bukhansan Mountain, and Hangang River. Tall trees are line the park to provide shades and serve as resting spots for visitors. As a popular spot to enjoy the sight of eulalias, the park usually remains open until late in the evening during the Eulalia Festival period. * Noeul Park: In order to prevent the vast area of land of what was once a wasteland from becoming an unnecessary chunk of land, a nine-hole golf course was constructed in what is now known as Noeul Park. The golf course serves as an environment friendly entertainment park to visitors while stabilizing the geographical formation and has an urban park nearby that offers scenic views of the Hangang River and beautiful sunset. Located west of the golf park is Noeul Square, decorated with shrubs and flowers. * Nanjicheon Park: Nanjicheon Park was developed from the Nanji Stream, which flowed under Haneul Park. It was once overflowing with sewage runoff from a nearby landfill, but it has since been beautifully restored into a park with clear water. The park is built to serve as a recreational spot for those with for youths, elders, and people with disabilities.
World Flower Botanical Garden (세계꽃식물원)

World Flower Botanical Garden opened to the public in 2004 and sees 15,000~20,000 visitors every year. This internationally recognized garden is Korea's largest greenhouse garden that features over 3,000 species of plants and flowers. To cultivate gardening culture in Korea, the garden founded LIAF Garden Center, acronym for "Life is a Flower." The garden center offers diverse gardening programs and products.
Woryeonggyo Bridge (월영교)
Sanga-dong, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Woryeonggyo Bridge was named in reference to the submerged Woryeongdae Observatory and the names of nearby areas Wolgok-myeon and Eumdamgol. The view of Woryeonggyo Bridge with the moon's reflection in the Nakdonggang River is a beautiful sight. Woryeonggyo Bridge harbors a tragic yet beautiful legend about a wife who made a pair of mituri (hemp shoes) out of her hair in heartfelt yearning and condolence for her late husband. In commemoration of her pure and noble love, the bridge was designed in the style of mituri.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - variety show "I Am Solo"This spot is where Yeong-sik and Hyeon-suk enjoyed their hanbok date. Perhaps because of the romantic lights, the two managed to confirm their feelings for each other once more. You can walk on the bridge like Yeong-sik and Hyeon-suk did or take the Moon Boat on the lake and enjoy the view of the bridge from the water.
