Seoul Hanok Stay (JNP Stay) is a private hanok stay located 3 minutes' walking distance from Gyeongbokgung Station. You can play traditional Korean games such as jejichagi (hacky sack), yut nori (board game), and tuho (arrow-throwing) in the yard, and cooking barbecue adds to the charm of the hanok. From the yard, you can enjoy the sky view, feel the gentle breeze, and observe raindrops falling from the eaves.
Shani Motel (샤니모텔)

Shani Motel is in Buan, Jeollabuk-do, and is accessibly situated just a 7-minute walk from the Buan Intercity Bus Terminal. Sieunjae is a hanok stay that has stood in the midst of busy Gyeongun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, for generations. The guestrooms comprise an anbang (bedroom plus living room), three smaller rooms, and a byeolchae or detached house. All rooms have a toilet, and there’s a well-equipped shared kitchen and a washing machine. Guests can either rent individual rooms or the whole hanok. Jongno is convenient for travel to all the historic sites of Seoul, and there’s a public carpark nearby.

Sinchon Sisters is a friendly guesthouse in Mapo-gu, Seoul, that caters for young travelers. Rooms are for two, three or four people, and each room has its own bathroom. Transport is convenient: Sinchon Station and Sogang University Station are a 5 minutes’ walk away, and there are bus stops nearby - including for the airport express bus service. Siwon is a timber and clay-built hanok stay, part of Jeonju Hanok Village in Jeollabuk-do. It has four guestrooms, all but one with a small attic - so guests can have fun climbing up and down the ladder! The rooms have all been insulated and draft-proofed to keep visitors warm and comfortable. In the yard is a small garden and swing, and guests can play traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi - or even take part in a carpentry workshop. Must-see sites such as Gyeonggijeon, Jeondong Cathedral, Omokdae, and Nambu Market can all be reached on foot.

Located in Baraemi Village, Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Sogang House is a hanok that is over 100 years old. Baraemi Village, the Uiseong Kim clan village, has lots of old houses remaining, but Sogang House has an outstanding history and ambiance. The house was built around 1910 by Namho Kim Roi-sik, a renowned wealthy patriot in Gyeongsang-do, for his second son, Sogang Kim Chang-gi when he was married. Kim Roi-sik is a figure who donated the money secured on his whole possession when the Provisional Government of Korea in Shanghai was raising contributions, and received the Order of Merit for National Foundation. Sogang House is a D-shaped hanok with the adjoining sarangchae and anchae. Even the door frame of the house is built with the chunyang pine, showing the elaboration put in its building. As it is not easily twisted or rotten, chunyang pine is the best pine for architecture that was used for building the palace, the temple, and houses of aristocrats in the Joseon period. There are six guest rooms, including Sarangbang and Eosabang. Sarangbang contains two rooms and veranda, Seonbibang is the room that sunshine comes in the earliest in the morning, and Doryeongbang is the only ondol (floor-heated) room that is built with red clay. Every room has an air-conditioner and the lovely garden with a flower tree is seen through the open window.

Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel is in Seomyeon, Busan, Gyeongsangnam-do. The hotel is in the city center close to many restaurants, shops and entertainment venues. Rooms vary but are all equipped with a bidet, humidifier, personal safe, wine refrigerator and capsule coffee machine. Disabled and elderly-friendly rooms are also available. Breakfast is Korean/Japanese/Western buffet style, and costs 15,000 won per person. There is a sauna, a gym, a business center with computers and printers, and a separate smoking area on the 3rd floor.

Sonanggu Pension stands on a high point overlooking Jisepohang Port in Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do. It’s a 2-storey building of timber and red clay with a terraced garden full of flowers, trees, and wild grasses, plus a resting area and a gazebo with fine views. Each room is equipped with modern kitchen facilities and toilets, and in the yard there’s a hot-stone grill for Korean-style barbecues.
Song jeong Historic House (송정고택)

Songjeong Old House in Deokcheon Village, Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is an ‘ㅁ’-shaped hanok and one-time home of Sim Sang-gwan, a wealthy gentleman of the early 20th century. The house is notable for its incorporation of the library used by Shim Sang-gwang. To the right is Songso's house and to the left a trail leading to a water well and a pine forest. The Korean-style rooms are ondol-heated with traditional wallpaper and natural cotton duvets. There’s a spacious yard where traditional Korean music can be heard, while the annual Old House music concerts are very popular.
Songgangjungsa (푸실 (송강정사))
560 , Yongma-ro, Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Songgang Jeongsa is a traditional Korean guesthouse near Gyeongcheondae, Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. It offers one western-style guestroom with a bed and one ondol-heated Korean-style room with no bed. The kitchen and living room are shared. The owner also runs the Traditional Food Research Association, where visitors can sample quality Korean food (reservation needed). A simple breakfast is provided, with Korean green tea. You can rent a bicycle to ride around Gyeongcheondae and the Nakdonggang River valley, and visit the Sangju Bicycle Museum. Donamseowon Confucian Academy, and Sangju Museum are within walking distance.
Songgyehyeon (송계헌)

Song Gye-heon is a pinewood-built hanok in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do - not far from the famous Byeongsan Seowon Confucian school - which combines traditional hanok style with modern convenience. The hanok is rented out as a single unit, and is ideal for families or group travelers. There are 3 bedrooms, one with a bed and the other two Korean-style rooms, with ample living space. There’s a kitchen for guests’ use, and the owner is happy to guide you round the Andong area.
