Village 736 is a self-contained private pension situated in Hongcheon, Gangwon-dong, with breathtaking views of Geumhaksan Mountain in back, Hongcheongang River in front, and the foothills of Soeppulbong Peak in the distance. Apart from the family guest building, which is a private pension on the first floor, all of the buildings have a three-story structure, with a kitchen and an outdoor deck on the first floor, a living room and a bathtub on the second floor, and a bedroom on the third floor. There is an outdoor swimming pool in the center of the pension. Each guest building has its own barbecue area, and barbecue sets can be ordered. Complimentary breakfast such as sandwiches are provided to guests.

The Daehwanggang Trail passes by the pension and is great for walking or mountain-biking; or visitors can take the beautiful riverside path from Amnok Amusement Park to Seomjin River. Localc attractions such as Seomjingang Train Village and Daeansa Temple are 15 to 20 minutes away by car, while Gokseong Zipline is 4 minutes away.

Wiyeonjae Hanok Stay (위연재)

Wiyeonjae hanok stay stands on the edge of the Gyeongju Historic Area, so that from here Cheomseongdae, Daereungwon, Donggung Palace, Wolji Pond and the other historic sites can be reached on foot. It’s a place where Silla period relics were excavated during construction, and you can still feel the 1,000 year history of the Silla capital. All rooms are ondol-style, and all have bathrooms. One room, Munmu, has a numary(raised floor) which is a great spot for taking photos. A free breakfast is provided and parking space is available.

Wonhak Goga (원학고가)

Wonhakgoga is a large and imposing hanok in the center of Hwangsan Village, Geochang, Gyeongsangnam-do - not far from the famous Suseungdae Rock - and was head house of the Geochang Shin Clan for around 500 years. The house’s fine gabled roofs, large pillars and foundation stones, and decoration of the kind usually found in palaces and temples mark it out as home to a prestigious family. Visitors can stay in Jungmunchae, Daemunchae or Sarangchae - the latter of which has a bathroom and toilet. Wonhakgoga is a good base for visiting the annual 인재

Worlindang (월인당)

Wolindang hanok stay in Mojeong Haengbok Village, Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, is a year-round great spot for full moon watchers. Its traditional hanok features include red clay walls, daecheong (hall), ondol underfloor heating, and a numaru or upper floor - where visitors can take their tea. Outside is a fireplace for sweet potato baking or barbecues. Residents can enjoy a tea ceremony or sample natural dyeing or making red bean kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup). The large grassy yard is decorated with interesting murals, and is often the site of outdoor ball games.

YangDongHo Traditional House (Hanok 152) / 양참사댁(양동호 가옥 / 한옥152)

Yangchamsa House, also known as Yangdongho House, is a hanok stay in Hwasun, Jeollanam-do - a 300-year-old yangban dwelling now designated a national folk cultural asset. There are five guestrooms of different sizes in the anchae and sarangchae. The house hosts exhibitions and concerts from time to time, and can be hired for weddings, banquets or workshops. There’s a traditional cultural experience program. Nearby must-visit places are Hakjae Old House and Hwasun Dolmen Site in the village, and Unjusa Temple (a 15-minute drive away).

Yangjindang/ 하회 양진당

Hahoe Yangjindang, in Hahoe Village in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is the head house of the Ryu Clan of Pungsan. Also known as Ipam Old House, it’s a designated national cultural treasure. An unusual feature is the incorporation of two different architectural styles: the sarangchae is in the Goryeo style, while the anchae is in the Joseon style. The rooms are simple and elegant, with antique mother-of-pearl cupboards, tableware cabinets, and ceramics placed here and there add to the old-time charm. Guests can enjoy traditional folk games, or have a go at home-brewing or making rice cakes and sweets.

Yangsodang is the head house of the Andong Kim Clan, which dates back 230 years and is located in Sosan Village in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Being a true hanok built by joining wood without nails, this house is a perfect place to take in the beauty of traditional Korean architecture. There are five guest rooms, including the Anchae Anbang (main room in the main building), a large ondol (underfloor heated) room across from the Anchae (main building), and a large Sarangchae (detached building) that has two rooms with a maru (wide wooden floor area); all of the rooms, except the small room, have either a daecheong maru (wooden-floored living room) or toenmaru (narrow wooden porch). In the yard east of Yangjo-dang, you can experience what it is like to live in a hanok, as well as participate in craft activities using Hanji (Korean paper).

Yeobyeoncho House (엽연초하우스)

Yeobyeoncho House is a guesthouse located in downtown Jecheon, Chungcheongbuk-do. It is easily accessible and offers affordable room rates. On the first floor, there is a cafe, while on the second floor, there are eight guest rooms, including bedrooms and ondol (underfloor heated) rooms. There is a separate bathroom and bathtub in each room, and despite no cooking allowed, breakfast is served in the cafe on the first floor. It is, however, complimentary if you subscribe to Yeopyeoncho House on YouTube. The building is surrounded by a large park, and adjacent to it is the Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Warehouse and the former office building of the Jecheon Leaf Tobacco Growers Organization.

Yeolimjae Pension (여림재펜션)

Yeolimjae Pension is a newly built modern three-story pension located in Wanju, Jeollabuk-do. The pension has five guest rooms, ranging from couple rooms for two people to family rooms. Each room comes with a bathroom, a kitchen, and a private terrace. From the terrace, you can enjoy a cup of tea while taking in the mountain scenery. The garden includes an outdoor swimming pool and a picnic table adjacent to it. Be sure to check the availability of the barbecue area in advance since it differs from room to room. Nearby tourist attractions include Sanggwan Cypress Forest, Jeonju Hanok Village, and Ongnyeobong Peak Valley.

Yeoncheon World Camping Experience Zone (연천세계캠핑체험존)

Yeoncheon World Camping Experience Zone is a pension in the Yeoncheon-gun Hantan River tourist area which is really two separate lodgings - Imjin Pension and Hantan Pension. Rooms accomodate either 4, 6 or 8 persons, and some rooms are duplex. Each building has an outdoor deck, outdoor tables, and a dedicated car park - the number of parking spaces varying according to room size. Cooking facilities and tableware are provided, but visitors should bring their own toiletries. There is a swimming pool during the summer. Discounts are available for local residents and families with multiple children.

Yeonggwang West Ocean CC Golftel is located on Baeksu Coastal Road in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do. Golftel guests can see the Chilsan Sea, Baeksu Coast Road, fine night views and beautiful natural scenery from their rooms, providing relaxing sensations and fond memories. A second 3-storey building was added to the Golftel in 2020.
