The Cheonan K-Culture Expo is a K-culture–driven cultural industry fair held primarily at the Independence Hall of Korea, a landmark symbolizing Korea’s spirit of independence and national identity. Since its inaugural edition in 2023, the expo has been held annually for three consecutive years, integrating exhibition, performance, interactive, and consumer-oriented programs into a comprehensive cultural platform. Through ongoing collaboration with the Independence Hall, cultural and arts institutions, and regional industries, the expo continues to strengthen its operational stability while expanding its scale and scope.

Cheonan World Dance Festival (천안흥타령춤축제)

The Cheonan World Dance Festival is a global event that brings everyone together through dance, transcending nationalities and language barriers. Dancers from all over the world gather in Cheonan to participate in various festival programs. The National Dance Competition is the highlight of the festival, with a total prize of about 100 million won. There is also the Street Dance Parade across the city center and the International Dance Competition in which dance teams from across the globe participate. Other shows include the energetic performances of the National University Cheerleading Competition and the exciting “Improv Dance Battle,” where everyone can join in on the fun.

Cheongdo Provence Lighting Festival (청도 프로방스 빛축제)

A theme park inspired by the Provence Village in France, Cheongdo Provence Lighting Festival presents a heartwarming atmosphere during the day and a romantic, ambient mood at night with beautiful lights. It also changes its theme every season, with the most popular season being winter. In winter, the park turns into a Santa Village, with Santa Claus, Santa's helpers, and reindeers. Cheorwon Hantangang River Ice Trekking Festival (철원 한탄강 얼음트레킹 축제)

Set amid the spectacular winter landscape of the Hantangang River, the Cheorwon Hantangang River Ice Trekking Festival is one of Cheorwon’s premier winter celebrations. The festival has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Korea Festival Contents Awards and was selected as an Outstanding Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for 2026–2027. Connected to the Hantangang River Mulwit-gil trekking course, the festival allows visitors to enjoy the river’s breathtaking snowy scenery while taking part in a variety of performances and winter-themed activities held throughout the festival period at the main venue beneath Seungilgyo Bridge. Special events, including the popular “Ttongbaram Altong Road Run," add to the festive atmosphere and excitement.

Chuncheon Ani Town Festival (춘천 애니타운 페스티벌)

Chuncheon Mime Festival (춘천마임축제)

The Chuncheon International Mime Festival is recognized as one of the world’s top three mime festivals, alongside France’s Mimos Mime Festival and the London International Mime Festival in the UK. The festival kicks off with “City of Water: Ah! Surajang,” transforming the city center into a massive water park. The highlight of the festival is the fire performance “City of Fire: Dokkaebi Nanjang,” which lights up the dark night. During the festival, various performances based on “body, movement, and image” are held throughout Chuncheon. As a performing arts festival connecting the city, art, and its citizens, it continues to grow in popularity as one of Korea’s leading performance festivals.

Chungjang Street Festival of Recollection (광주 추억의 충장축제)

Every October, the Chungjang Street Festival of Recollection is held on the streets of Chungjang-ro and Geumnam-ro in the city center with the theme of memories. The themed streets exactly replicate the old Chungjang-ro with the theme of "memories of night," allowing visitors to enjoy different types of songs from the olden days. This festival, held in the heart of Gwangju, offers a wide array of events, such as nostalgic concerts, flour games, parades, and random dance performances, making it a popular attraction with plenty to see and do.◎ Chungjang-ro, GwangjuChungjang-ro is so famous as a fashion street that it is nicknamed the “Myeongdong Street of Gwangju.” The name “Chungjang” comes from the military title of General Kim Deok-ryeong, known for his valiant acts in the Japanese invasion of Korea in 1592.

Chunhyang Festival (춘향제)

Daegu Chimac Festival (대구치맥페스티벌)

The Daegu Chimac Festival is Daegu’s signature summer festival and Korea’s largest food-and-drink event celebrating the much-loved pairing of chicken and beer. Since its launch in 2013, it has grown steadily, now drawing one million visitors and helping boost the local economy while raising Daegu’s profile as a global destination. Selected in 2026 for Korea’s Local 100 list and as a Preliminary Global Festival, this year’s event will run from July 1 to 5 in and around Duryu Park. Beyond chicken and beer, the festival offers a full lineup of performances, exhibitions, hands-on programs, and promotional booths. The main venue, 2.28 Freedom Square, will be transformed into a water concert zone where water play meets electronic music, with a new 360-degree central stage added this year. Across the festival grounds, visitors can explore themed zones such as Daefrica Waterpia, Chimac Sing-along Club, and Chisangnakwon EGG Island. Artist-designed installations and photo zones will bring even more energy to the festival grounds.
