Suwon Workshop Street stretches from the plaza of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace to the Nammun Rodeo Youth Culture Performance Hall near Paldalmun Gate. The street is lined with workshops where artists display and sell their handmade crafts. Visitors can engage in various craft experiences, including woodcraft, hanji (traditional Korean paper) craft, ribbon craft, sewing, and metalworking, while also shopping for unique handmade items. In addition to the workshops, the street features Haenggung Sarangchae, a cozy spot for travelers to unwind, the Museum of Memories, and several charming cafés.

Suwonhyanggyo Confucian School was built in 1291 in front of Hwasan Mountain in Hwaseong where it stayed for nearly 500 years. It was moved to its current location in 1789 with the construction of Hwaseong Fortress. During the move, some of the original wood was exposed to water and began to rot. These parts were repaired in 1795 and efforts were made to prevent the wooden structure from futher damage. The current school is comprised of various halls, gates, and pavilions. It is registered as Gyeonggi-do Cultural Property and operates programs every summer for regional students.

Taeeulam Hermitage is well-known for Rock-carved Standing Buddha Triad, designated as National Treasure No. 307. Featuring gently smiling Buddhas, Taean’s Budda Triad has a unique formation with a smaller Bodhisattva figure set in the middle with two Buddha statues on the sides, being different from a typical triad which usually features a main Buddha in the middle surrounded by two Hyeopsi Bosal (Buddhist saint) on the sides. Taeeulam Hermitage is located on the western coast, providing opportunities to interact with China and Chinese culture but this also allowed for frequent appearances of foreign raiders. With this geographical background, Taean was able to accept Chinese precedent culture earlier than other areas and established excellent Buddhist cultural relics.

Located on the foot of Dongnisan Mountain, Taeansa Temple was built by three monks during the reign of the Silla King, Gyeongdeok (742). Afterwards, Monk Hyecheol constructed a large temple with 132 rooms during Goryeo Taejo’s reign, which was established as a central seminary of the Dongnisan Mountain area. In the precincts there are four treasures, including Hyecheolguksa Sari Pagoda, Gwangjaseonsa Pagoda and Neungpagak. The temple was badly damaged during the Korean War and had been refurbished since then. An invigorating valley and a shady nook can be reached just 1.8 kilometers from the entrance of the temple. It is a popular trail during the fall, with its bright maple leaves.

Taebaeksan Mountain range encompasses several peaks such as Yeongbong Peak (alt. 1,560 m), where in the past, people would conduct rites to venerate Heaven at Cheonjedan Altar; Janggunbong Peak (alt. 1,567 m), Munsubong Peak (alt. 1,517 m), and its summit of Hambaeksan Mountain (alt. 1,572 m). Taebaeksan Mountain serves as a home to diverse wild animals and plants, including several endangered species. The higher plains are covered with alpine vegetation. The mountain becomes hot pink with mountain rhododendron and azalea in the spring; green with thick forest and pristine waters in the summer; rainbow colored with changing leaves in the fall; and white with snow in the winter.

Taeha Coastal Trail can be reached by crossing the pedastrian bridge next to Hwangtogul Cave. While crossing the bridge, visitors can enjoy murals of Taeha Village and a photo zone. Taeha Coastal Trail is made up of trachyte and agglomerate rocks, and boasts beautiful coastal scenery due to the unique topography eroded by the wind. It is also where one can observe tafoni, a honeycomb-shaped rocks that weathered by the reaction of salts contained in sea breezes. By taking the Taeha Hyangmok Tour Monorail for about 6 minutes and walking along the trail for about 20 minutes, visitors will reach Ulleungdo Lighthouse (Taeha Lighthouse) and the Hyangmok Geo Skywalk. Junipers in Daepunggam Cliff grew in weathered soil formed in the cracks of columnar joints, creating a unique ecological environment isolated from inland areas for a very long time. Due to its significance, Junipers were designated as natural monuments.

The Taehwagang River cuts across the heart of Ulsan and flows into Ulsan Bay, which is connected to the East Sea. The river basin, which stretches 36 kilometers from east to west and 28 kilometers from north to south, is mostly comprised of mountainous terrain, but there is fertile land on both sides of the river and at the southern end of the river. The river is presently an important source of drinking water for the citizens of Ulsan.The field around the midpoint of Taehwagang River was left abandoned for a long time before it was founded as Taehwagang National Garden, preserving nature while providing a resting spot to the citizens of Ulsan. The garden is over twice the size of Yeouido Park in Seoul, and consists of natural water and a lush bamboo forest, known as Simnidae Forest, along with canola and forage barley fields. Simnidae Forest was once in danger of demolition as part of the government's flood control plans but remains preserved thanks to community efforts. Preservation efforts led to turning the area into Taehwagang National Garden of today, which was recognized as Korea's second national garden in 2019.◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - TV series"Death's Game"This is the place that Yee-jae, reborn as his mother, visited to remember his mother by. The coast features many geological formations, including sea caves and uniquely shaped rocks. Visitors can enjoy walking on the forested paths, or take the train course to easily access Taejongdae Observatory and Yeongdo Coastal Culture Space.
