Dalbit Hanok Experience Byeolyu Punggyeong is a hanok accommodation built using natural materials, such as red clay, cypress, and soil. It is located in the inner alley of Dalbit Hanok Village in Gangjin, Jeonnam-do. There are two guest rooms, Pine Scent and Cypress Tree, where thick cypress logs are placed to softly exude the aroma of phytoncide, and the living room with hanging rafters has wooden furniture to provide a sense of comfort and coziness. The yard is adorned with colorful flowers. Breakfast is served with vegetables grown in the garden that are pollution-free.

Located in Gangjin Dalbit Hanok Village, Suryuhwagae is an accommodation in a form of a traditional Korean housing that stands in front of magnificent Wolchulsan Mountain and filled with green tea aroma that lingers from the breeze coming from Wolchulsan Dawon (tea plantation). The warm ambiance makes guests feel as if visiting a relative’s house in the countryside. The picturesque scenery of the hanok with a yard filled with flowers is surely impressive. The owner serves welcome tea when guests arrive. There are only two guest rooms: Byeolbit Room and Dalbit Room. The two rooms are good for two and three guests, respectively, or can be booked together to enjoy the whole hanok without other guests. Both rooms each have a numaru (hanok balcony) and a private bathroom. Through the numaru window, guests can enjoy the view of the grass yard and the starry sky at night. Guests are served healthy Korean food as complimentary breakfast. The owner prepares a healthy meal with crops picked from the garden.

Dalbit Miso (‘Moonlight Smile’) is a hanok guest house in Dalbit Hanok Village, Gangjin, Jeonnam-do. The Dalbit Room has numaru(a raised floor), while the Miso Room has a jjongmaru(wooden veranda); from here guests will enjoy the beautiful scenery of Wolchulsan National Park and the scent rising from the green tea fields. The guest house offers a hearty breakfast. Baegundong Garden and Wolchulsan National Park are 5-10 minutes away by car.

The Dalseong Korea-Japan Friendship Center opened in 2012 to highlight the philanthropy of General Kim Chung-seon (Japanese name Sayaka, 1571-1642) and promote friendship between Korea and Japan. Kim Chung-seon was a Japanese general who defected to Korea during the Imjin War. Shortly after arriving on Korean soil as a commander of a Japanese army, Kim, together with his soldiers, defected to Korea, a choice that has been traditionally attributed to his respect for Korean culture. He transferred the technology of manufacturing rifles to the Korean army and contributed greatly in battles in Gyeongju and Ulsan. A great number of tourists visit the center to learn about history, including students and their parents, as well as numerous Japanese tourists who visit to commemorate the spirit of General Kim. The center features exhibition rooms, a 3D theater, a tea ceremony room, relics, manifestations of traditional games in Korea and Japan, documents from Wakayama prefecture in Japan, and a site for experiencing archery, all of which can be utilized free of charge.

Damdaheon is an experience center dedicated to the art of making rice cakes, situated in Geomundol (black stone) Village in Sangok-dong, Uijeongbu. It was opened on October 23, 2009, under Park Gyeong-ae, recognized as a master artisan by Gyeonggi-do. The center offers experience programs like rice cake-making, sweet red bean jelly-making, fermented soybean and sauce-making, kimchi-making, and bean curd-making, as well as weekend farms (offered on a yearly basis). It strives to promote the traditional healthy foods of Korea through hands-on experiences to children and young people, who tend to gravitate toward instant and Western food, and to encourage them to make their own rice cakes at home with Damdaheon’s easy rice cake recipes.
