13 Jukdosijang 13-gil, Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Jukdo Market in Pohang began over 50 years ago as a cluster of street stalls in what was once a reed-filled wetland near the inner harbor. Officially established in 1969, it has grown into the largest traditional market on Korea’s east coast, with around 1,500 stores. Located about 500 meters east of Pohang’s central intersection, the market includes Jukdo Fish Market, where more than 200 hoe (sliced raw fish) restaurants are gathered inside the seafood auction area. Visitors can buy fresh seafood year-round at affordable prices and have it prepared on the spot for a small fee. Pohang specialties such as mulhoe, abalone porridge, and winter-time gwamegi are especially popular.

Jukdojeong Pavilion is located on Jukdo Island in Yangyang, which is a small island with an average circumference of 1 kilometer. The beautiful scenery of lush pine and bamboo forest, with the emerald blue sea in the background, makes it one of the “Yangyang Best 10” spots. It is one of the best places to watch the sunrise on the East Coast. Located next to Jukdojeong Pavilion, the Jukdo Observatory offers a panoramic view of Jukdo Island. Although it was originally an island, it is now connected to the mainland. The walking path around the island is a great place for visitors to take a leisurely stroll along the sea while also enjoying the lush green forest.

Jukseong Church (Filming Set) (죽성성당(드림세트장))
Duho 1-gil, Gijang-eup, Gijang-gun, Busan
Located in Gijang-gun, Busan, Jukseong Church is a drama set built for the SBS drama "Dream (2009)." The drama aired a long time ago and is forgotten, but this well-made space has become a must-see for travelers visiting Gijang. The inside of the cathedral is operated as a gallery, and visitors can encounter a pleasant surprise when there is an ongoing exhibition. Perhaps thanks to its location in a small fishing village, it retains a unique atmosphere. The seaside landscape is like a painting from the Middle Ages. The white foam breaking over the rocks contrasts with the red roof of the church and catches the attention of those who visit this place at a glance. The place where most people wait in line at Jukseong Church is a photo spot decorated with a picture frame structure. The blue sea and sky in the frame create a beautiful background.

Jukseoru Pavilion (삼척 죽서루)
37 Jukseoru-gil, Samcheok-si, Gangwon-do
Jukseoru Pavilion, estimated to have been built around 1266, is one of the eight major attractions of Gwandong District in middle eastern Korea collectively known as Gwandong Palgyeong (eight famous sites). Sitting on the edge of a cliff overlooking Osipcheon Stream, the pavilion incorporates the rocks on the cliff as cornerstones, with a five-girder paljak (ancient-style roof). Then, there are 26 signboards hanging from the rafters of the pavilion. The signboards contain inscriptions of famous ancient scholars such as 'Jeilgyeongjeong' ('The best riverside pavilion'; 1662) by Heo Mok, 'Jukseoru' and 'Gwandong Jeilru' ('The best pavilion in Gwandong'; 1711) by Yi Seong-jo, and 'Haeseon Yuhui Jiso' ('The place that marine gods enjoy'; 1837) by Yi Gyu-heon. Others who have left their mark include King Sukjong (1674-1720), King Jeongjo (1776-1800) and Yulgok YiYi (1536-1584). Evidently, Jukseoru Pavilion has served as an inspiration since its establishment, and continues to inspire visitors today through the stunning view of its surrounding nature.
