Podo Museum (포도뮤지엄)

Opened in April 2021, Podo Museum aims to be a space that promotes the symbiosis of the Earth's ecological environment and humankind and listens to the voices of the socially underprivileged. It operates mainly around exhibitions without any separate experience programs. Exhibitions are held following the museum's goals and themes. As the content changes depending on the period, checking the website before visiting is recommended. The museum also has a café and souvenir shop on its first floor, making it great to look around on rainy days when outdoor sightseeing is not a preferred option. There are Camellia Hill, Bangju Church, and Bonte Museum nearby, so visitors are recommended to look around.

Pogaljib is a restaurant known for grilled beef galbi in Duho-dong, Buk-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Its signature dish is Pogalsal (Pohang galbi), and other dishes include the grilled beef tail, grilled boneless short ribs, and Pohang galbi ramyeon. An order of more than four servings per table comes with a Pogal Offal Soup or Pogal Galbi Soup free of charge. The basic table is nothing to scoff at as well, with delicious dishes like chilled acorn jelly soup, spicy marinated crab, and vegetable wraps. There may be a waiting line, but the wait is worth it. The restaurant is located near Yeongildae Beach, Yeongildae Observatory, and other tourist sites.

Pohang Canal (포항운하)

Pohang Canal, completed in January 2014, cuts between Pohang's Songdo-dong and Jungdo 1-dong, connecting the waters under Dongbindaegyo Bridge with Hyeongsangang River to the south. The canal has a total length of 1.3km, adding on to the 8~10 km long seafaring road of Pohang. The canal is a restoration of an old water path, and the citizens have welcomed the eco-friendly construction as a community park. Many people enjoy walking along the canal or the romantic experience of riding on a cruise ship through the canal.
Pohang Deokdong Culture Village (포항 덕동문화마을)

Pohang Deokdong Culture Village is a picturesque traditional village, renowned for its stunning natural beauty and impeccably preserved old houses. This village has its roots in the Imjin War era, when Jeong Munbu, a civil official of the Joseon dynasty, bestowed his wealth upon his grandson-in-law after returning to Jeonju at the war's conclusion. The village is home to significant cultural properties, including Aeeundang Old House and Saujeong Old House, Yonggyejeong Pavilion, and the Deokgyeseodang Village School. It also houses a Folk Museum, a repository of historical artifacts handed down through generations. The museum's collection includes items such as traditional banknotes, slave ownership papers, and gat (Korean traditional hats), offering a window into the rich cultural heritage and history of the village and its families.

Pohang International Fireworks Festival (포항국제불빛축제)

Details for the 2026 festivals will be updated as they become available.*The Pohang International Fire & Light Festival is an internationally renowned event themed around the images of “light,” symbolizing the global steel city of Pohang, and “fire,” representing the hot blast furnaces. Performers and local citizens dress up in all sorts of costumes and masks to join in the Fire & Light Parade, which marks the colorful beginning of the festival. The festival culminates in the International Fireworks Show, the highlight of the evening. The world’s best teams participate in the festival every year to give a spectacular show of fireworks against the backdrop of Yeongilman Bay. The festival began in 2004 to commemorate Pohang Citizens Day with a fireworks show and has since become a beloved celebrated annual festival, showcasing the pride of Pohang to its citizens.◎ TipYou can see the fireworks from Yeongildae Beach and Songdo Beach. Although you can’t hear the music from the show, you can watch the fireworks show peacefully at a less crowded seashore. After the show, you can move to Hyeongsangang Sports Park, the festival venue, to enjoy the rest of the festival’s programs.
Pohang Marine Park Character Theme Park (포항해상공원 캐릭터테마파크)

Pohang Marine Park Character Theme Park is located in Songdo-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. This new landmark of Pohang aims to move toward the future of the maritime tourism city. In the park, there are characters such as Turning Mecard, Hello Carbot, SofyRuby, and Gaspard et Lisa. At night, there is a musical fountain that spouts water with colorful lights. Additional sightseeing spots include the Pohang Canal, Songdo Forest Theme Street, and Jukdo Market located nearby.

Pohang Museum of Steel Art (포항시립미술관)

The Pohang Museum of Steel Art, themed around steel as the foundation of Pohang's culture, showcases a Steel Art collection, contemporary art exhibitions, and music performances. Its facilities include an outdoor sculpture park, indoor exhibition halls, a museum shop, an art library, and a cafeteria. Visitors can also engage in hands-on programs to craft household items and jewelry from metal.

Pohang Traditional Culture Center (포항전통문화체험관)

Pohang Traditional Culture Center is in a quiet village in Deok-dong, 40 minutes from downtown Pohang. It's a place for learning about traditional local culture while enjoying beautiful natural surroundings. Visitors can experience seodang schooling, calligraphy, a tea ceremony, natural dyeing, taekkyeon martial art, Nanta drumming, straw crafts and paper making, as well as making (and eating) bean curd and rice cakes. The affordable hanok rooms are ondol-heated, with shared toilet and shower room.
