Taejongdae Cliffed Coast [National Geopark] (태종대 (부산 국가지질공원))

Taejongdae Cliffed Coast was formed by many layers of rock being forced together beneath a lake during the Cretaceous period, and then worn away over time by the sea. The coast features many geological formations, including sea caves and uniquely shaped rocks. Visitors can enjoy walking on the forested paths, or take the train course to easily access Taejongdae Observatory and Yeongdo Coastal Culture Space.

The facility is open to anyone who has learned Taekwondo, both at home and abroad as well as those looking to discipline their minds and bodies through Taekwondo, including businesses, students, and the general public. The Pyeongwon Gwan at Taekwondowon is the national team’s comprehensive training facility, where the Taekwondo Poomsae national team members, junior national team members, the national reserve teams, and demonstration teams have their training sessions.

Taepyeongmu Instruction Hall (태평무 전수관)

Gang Seonyeong, who devoted a lifetime to traditional dance, built the Taepyeongmu Instruction Hall at her own expense in 1998 in her hometown of Anseong for the proper initiation into, and the preservation of traditional dance. Taepyeongmu dance is a traditional court dance that embodies the continuing hope for the nation to exist in peace. The dancers are adorned in magnificent regal costumes and execute enthusiastic movements, alternating steps while in serene repose. The center has a large performance hall with dance performances every Saturday and a museum displaying Taepyeongmu dance-related materials and folk articles from around the world.

Taepyung Salt Farm (태평염전)

Taepyung Salt Farm, the largest salt farm in Korea, spans 4.62 million square meters. Located in Jeungdo-myeon, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, it produces the largest volume of salt from a single salt farm in the country. This natural salt farm, situated in a pristine area, boasts clean, sun-dried salt made from pure seawater, rich in minerals.

Taereung and Gangneung Royal Tombs [UNESCO World Heritage] (서울 태릉과 강릉 [유네스코 세계문화유산])

Designated as a Historic Site, Taereung & Gangneung Royal Tombs is comprised of two tombs. Taereung Royal Tomb houses the burial mound of Queen Munjeong who was the second queen of King Jungjong, the 11th King of the Joseon dynasty, and Gangneung Royal Tomb houses the burial mounds of King Myeongjong, the 13th King of Joseon dynasty, and Queen Insun. King Myeongjong ascended the throne after his elder brother, King Injong, when he was twelve years old at Geunjeongjeon Hall in Gyeongbokgung Palace in 1545. The king’s mother, Queen Munjeong ruled behind the scenes, acting as guardian for eight years.
