Hampyeong Butterfly Festival (함평나비대축제)

The arrival of spring, the blooming of flowers, and the fluttering of butterflies signal the beginning of the Butterfly Festival in Hampyeong. The festival holds exhibitions on flowers, butterflies, and insects, as well as cultural and art performances featuring various stories about the environment. There are also displays of butterfly and insect specimens from around the world at the Butterfly Ecology Center. Visitors can enjoy various eco-activities, including kite flying, a visit to the dairy farm, and traditional folk games. The most popular activity for families is trapping butterflies in small bottles and setting them free in the flower gardens. At the festival, there is also a food market and a special performance for visitors on Children’s Day.

Hampyeong Haesujjim Spa (함평해수찜)

Hampyeong Haesujjim Spa is a medical treatment method that has been widely used ever since the 1800’s. Nutrients are added to seawater, which is then heated for bathing, creating a “Haesujjim (seawater bath)” that combines the benefits of hot springs and bathing. This is especially popular among housewives since it is proven to be an effective treatment for neuralgia, post childbirth discomfort, arthritis, and dermatitis.

Hamyang Daebong Mountain Valley Resort (함양대봉산휴양밸리)

Hamyang Jianjae Pass (함양 지안재)

Jianjae Pass, renowned for its picturesque winding roads, is a celebrated attraction in Hamyang. It was also selected as one of the "100 Most Beautiful Roads in Korea." While the pass is navigable by car, it's best appreaciated by stopping to soak in the views from the observation deck. An observatory is situated at the end of Jianjae Pass, providing visitors with an excellent vantage point for capturing stunning photographs.
Han Hee-won Art Museum (한희원미술관)

Han Hee-won Art Museum is a small hanok art museum in the back alley of Yangnim-dong. Painter Han Hee-won grew up in Yangnim-dong, where he was influenced as a painter. In July 2015, he purchased a small hanok between the House of Yi Jang-u and the House of Choe Seunghyo and transformed it into an art museum to preserve and show the spirit of love, comfort, and art in his hometown, Yangnim-dong. An art museum with a low threshold approaching citizens with a humble mind, Han Hee-won Art Museum is open to anyone. Feel free to visit, appreciate the paintings, and be comforted through art.

Han Kook Jib (한국집)

Hanbando Raft Village (한반도 뗏목마을)

The Hanbando Raft Village is a raft experience center in Seonam Village, Ongjeong-ri, famous for its topography in the shape of the Korean Peninsula. It takes about 30 minutes to go back and forth on a raft from the east coast of the Mini Korean Peninsula to the west coast. While riding the raft, the boatman tells the story of the topography of the Mini Korean Peninsula and the fish living here. It is available from spring to autumn. In addition, various raft experiences are under operation, such as the Seogang Underwater Surveyor, a remodeled rafting boat that allows you to clearly view the underwater scenery.
Hanbat Arboretum (한밭수목원)

Hanbat Arboretum, linked with the Government Complex-Daejeon and Science Park, is the largest man-made urban arboretum in Korea. It serves multiple purposes: a reservoir of genetically diverse foliage, an eco-learning center for students, and a recreational area where people can relax and pass the time in the peaceful embrace of nature. The arboretum, standing on a lot measuring 387,000 square meters, is divided into three sections. The West Garden and Nammun Square opened on April 28th, 2005. The East Garden opened on May 9th, 2009, and consists of 19 uniquely themed parks, including the Magnolia Garden, Medicinal Herbs Garden, Rock Garden, and Fruit Garden.
