Mokpo Modern History Museum No. 1 (목포근대역사관 1관)

Mokpo Modern History Museum is the oldest building in Mokpo and a witness to Korea’s modern and contemporary history. It was built in 1898 and was used to house various public organizations, like city halls, consulates, and cultural centers, before being turned into the Mokpo Modern History Museum in 2014. As a building that has survived through rapid changes, it is valued for its historical and architectural significance. The museum has an exhibition on Mokpo’s history, organized into seven themes, detailing the history of the production and exploitation of various goods during the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945), along with miniature recreations of the streets of Mokpo city at that time.
Mokpo Modern History Museum No. 2 (목포근대역사관 2관)

Mokpo Modern History Museum No. 2 is located in what was first built in June 1920 as the Mokpo branch of the Oriental Development Company. This Renaissance-style building dates back to the Japanese colonial era and serves as a reminder of the Korea's past.
Mokpo Natural History Museum (목포자연사박물관)

Mokpo Natural History Museum is located inside of Gatbawi Culture Town, one of the major tourist attractions in Mokpo. The museum consists of a natural history hall and local history hall. The museum features many rare dinosaur fossils as well as cultural artifacts and exhibitions.
Mokpo Peace Plaza (목포평화광장)
82 Pyeonghwa-ro, Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do
This is a representative plaza in Mokpo and a place where locals often take a rest. Visitors can enjoy the seascape in the daytime, and Mokpo's night view when the sun sets. The Mokpo Dancing Ocean Fountain is in the middle of the park, along with gardens on both sides. Walking along the flat road toward the sea is wonderful for people of all ages and pets, as it has a wooden deck with stairs. It has a photo spot and an outdoor stage that anyone can use, so street performances are commonly held there.
Mokpo Port Festival (목포항구축제)

Details for the 2026 festivals will be updated as they become available.*“Mokpo is a port.” This phrase is familiar to Koreans as both a movie title and a popular song. Mokpo, one of three major ports in Korea, is a key center for trade and logistics. The Mokpo Port Festival recreates the traditional Pasi Market culture of Mokpo Port, offering a variety of food, entertainment, and experiences. Visitors can participate in live auctions at a ship for fresh seafood and enjoy the ocean view while grilling their purchases at the cooking station. In addition, the festival features a variety of maritime parades, navy band performances, and shows by art troupes from Mokpo’s overseas sister cities, all reflecting Mokpo’s identity as a port city.◎ Pasi MarketA market formed on the sea where merchant ships and traders gather near fishing grounds.
Mokpo Ramyeon Hongeo Ramyeon (목포라면 홍어라면)

A place to try skate in a different form. The 'Hongeoramyeon' (skate instant noodles), made with the restaurant's own seasoning, has a rich, full-bodied broth, not just ramyeon with skate in it. Other popular dishes include 'Hongeosamhap' (skate, pork, kimchi combo), pan-fried skate, and deep-fried skate. A single-person omakase-style set is also available.
Mokpo Skywalk (목포 스카이워크)
59 Haeyangdaehak-ro, Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do
Mokpo Skywalk offers an unobstructed view of Mokpo’s sea. Under the concept “observatory over the sea,” this platform over the sea offers a 360-degree view of Mokpo's sea. There are sections with glass flooring and sections with steel flooring, which adds to the thrill and allows one to enjoy the views from all sides. Mokpodaegyo Bridge stands on the eastern side of the skywalk for an even better view. The busiest time here is when the sun starts to set. The view of the sunset is especially beautiful thanks to the smaller islets scattered across the ocean. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, so it's a great place eat out after watching the sunset.
Mokpo Special Tourist Zone (목포 관광특구)
Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do
Mokpo Tourism Special Zone spans a 6.9km stretch from the North Port to Yudalsan Mountain, old downtown area, Samhakdo Island, Gatbawi Rock, and the Peace Plaza in the new city center. It features historical sites from the Japanese colonial era, such as the Former Japanese Consulate and Mokpo History and Culture of Modern Times. Visitors can explore attractions like the Mokpo Natural History Museum and the Korea National Maritime Museum. Being a coastal city, Mokpo offers a variety of seafood dishes including sliced raw croaker, braised cutlassfish, skate, pork, and kimchi combo, raw thin-legged octopus, and blue crab salad.
Mokpo Star (목포스타)

It is a place where you can enjoy soup dishes with various seafood. This Korean dishes restaurant is located in Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do. The most famous menu is spicy seafood stew.
Mokseom Island (목섬)
Seonjae-ri, Yeongheung-myeon, Ongjin-gun, Incheon
Mokseom Island is a small, uninhabited island a short distance from Seonjaedo Island. During low tide, a sandy walkway appears between the two islands, making this a unique attraction popular among visitors. A mudflat experience is also available in the nearby Seonjae Fishing Experience Village.
