Ulsan Onggi Festival (울산옹기축제)

Ulsan Onggi Festival is held annually in early May in Oegosan Onggi Village in Ulju-gun, renowned for its traditional onggi (earthenware)-making techniques. The festival promotes the regional specialty, onggi, contributing to the spread of everyday onggi and the development of traditional industries. The main event, “Touch of the Onggi Master,” features demonstrations by master onggi artisans from Oegosan. There are various hands-on activities for children, including stepping on clay, playing with clay, and making and firing onggi. Visitors can also learn about the uses of onggi in food storage and fermentation, and view onggi from around the world. Don’t miss the opportunity to taste local specialties and foods from Ulju.◎ OnggiOnggi is a type of bowl crafted from soil, using water, fire, and wind. This traditional pottery has been produced since the Three Kingdoms period and is well-suited for long-term food storage due to its excellent ventilation and preservative capabilities.

Ulsan Theme Botanic Gardens & Arboretum (울산테마식물수목원)

The Ulsan Theme Botanic Gardens & Arboretum was built on a farm that had been used for agriculture for nearly 20 years. By growing a large variety of plant species, the arboretum provides opportunities for learning and researching plants, and further seeks to become the largest woodland recreational space in the region.
Ulsan Up Square (울산업스퀘어)

Up Square, located on Design Street in Samsan-dong, one of Ulsan's two busiest streets, is a busy shopping mall where you can see the latest global trends in life, culture, and commercial fashion, at a glance. There are large bookstores, digital albums, stationery stores, coffee shops, clothing, and more on the first basement floor. In addition, there is a kids' park, so it is good to visit with children. The 2nd to 5th floors are convenient for shopping as you can see various fashion brands such as women's suits, men's suits, casual clothing, sportswear, and multi-brand shoe retailers all in one place. On the 5th floor, there is a restaurant area where visitors can try different kinds of food. Flea markets are often held at event venues next to the restaurant area, and there is also a movie theater, making it a popular date spot in Ulsan.
Ulsanbawi Rock Milky Way Photo Spot on Old Misiryeong Trail (미시령옛길 울산바위 은하수)

Misiryeong Pass, historically a pathway connecting Inje to Sokcho, also serves as an observation point for viewing Ulsanbawi Rock in Seoraksan Mountain. More recently, it has gained popularity as a photo spot for capturing the Milky Way. As a result, on clear nights, the parking lot is often filled with eager photographers.
Ulsandaegyo Observatory (울산대교 전망대)

At the height of 63 meters on top of Hwajeongsan Mountain (alt. 203 meters), Ulsandaegyo Observatory offers a breathtaking view of Ulsandaegyo Bridge as well as the city's three major industry complexes and beautiful mountains. The view is amazing regardless of day or night, attracting returning visitors to the area.
