Cheongchoho Lake Park (청초호 호수공원)

Cheongchoho Lake Park is where the 1999 International Tourism & Culture Expo was held. Benches are scattered around the park for resting in the shade of trees. By the natural lake is a walking deck for enjoying tulips in spring, marinas in summer, chrysanthemums in fall, and snow in winter. From the top of the Expo Tower, one can see a panoramic view of Cheongchoho Lake, Cheongchoho Lake Park, the East Sea, and even Jodo Island. On the other side, Ulsanbawi Peak and Dalmabong Peak of Seoraksan Mountain come into view.

Cheongchun Balsan Village (청춘발산마을)

Balsan Village is a representative neighborhood of Gwangju and is a prime example of how something amazing can come out of hardship. First settled by Korean war refugees, the small houses jam-packed on a hillside attracted young people looking for work in the 1970s and '80s, mainly females working in the garment factories nearby. Recently, the addition of colorful murals and public spaces has given the village a breath of new life.

Cheongdam Park (청담공원)

Up until the early 1960's, people would cross the Hangang River from Ttukseom Ferry Dock and arrive in Cheongdam-dong. Cheongdo Hanok School (청도한옥학교)

Located on the slopes of Namsan Mountain, the Cheongdo Hanok School is an educational center for carpenters who specialize in hanok (traditional Korean architecture). Hanok buildings hold cultural and historical values and the school has been gaining in popularity not only among carpenters, but also those who are interested in enjoying and upholding Korea's proud architectural history. The entrance of the school is marked with a large traditional "Neowa" (a house roofed with thick, unfinished shingles of pine) that immediately catches the eye. The school provides three types of courses. There is a basic carpentry course to teach people how to make wooden objects and structures, a course to nurture professional carpenters, and a course to teach carpenters how to build Hanok. The school’s hands-on programs offer visitors a chance to make a traditional Korean window and to saw and plane wood. There are cultural programs for children as well. Children, along with their parents, can make rice cake by pounding rice with a large hammer, bake sweet potatoes, or join a seminar on traditional Korean houses. The cultural programs change with each season.

Cheongdo Namsan Valley (청도 남산계곡)

Namsan Valley finds its source in a modest stream located on the northern slopes of Namsan Mountain in Cheongdo. This charming valley, adorned with rocky cliffs and crystal-clear waters, provides a refreshing respite from the sweltering summer heat. At the entrance to the valley, you'll encounter the Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage, a historical gem and the oldest stone ice storage facility in Korea. Strolling further along the valley, you'll find lines of intriguing rocks, carved with poems, including Chwiam and Ungeumcheon. These natural landmarks served as gathering spots for Seonbi, scholars from the Goryeo and Joseon periods, who came here to revel in the beauty of nature and craft spontaneous poems, fostering a deep appreciation for the arts.
Cheongdo Provence (청도 프로방스)

It's a representative theme park of Cheongdo. It is a travel destination that recreates the Provence region in southern France, surrounded by vineyards and lavender flower fields. It is a place where one can enjoy a unique and exotic trip with over 100 photo studios, prop stores, and little buildings. Visitors can enjoy the sculpture and the night view illuminated by colorful lights. In addition to photo spots, there is also a self-studio, so it's perfect for taking pictures. Take photos freely at 19 spots in the self-studio with various props to choose from. In addition, the starlight garden where visitors can enjoy the lights along with the paintings of Van Gogh, the sky garden with cute Smurfs and lights, and the railway with lights and sculptures like moon rabbits that create a mysterious atmosphere take one back to childhood.

Cheongdo Provence Lighting Festival (청도 프로방스 빛축제)

A theme park inspired by the Provence Village in France, Cheongdo Provence Lighting Festival presents a heartwarming atmosphere during the day and a romantic, ambient mood at night with beautiful lights. It also changes its theme every season, with the most popular season being winter. In winter, the park turns into a Santa Village, with Santa Claus, Santa's helpers, and reindeers. The park captures travelers' attention and their hearts with seasonal lighting and photo spots. Visitors are advised to check the festival dates in advance before attending.

Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage (청도 석빙고)
119-3 Dongsang-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
Stone ice storage was a type of building used to store ice in the past. Some of them are preserved today in Korea, including Gyeongju, Andong, and Cheongdo in the Gyeongsang-do area. The Cheongdo Stone Ice Storage was constructed during the Joseon dynasty, and now just part of the ceiling remains, allowing visitors to see inside. As a building used to store ice, it was built in the form of a warehouse dug into the ground. While looking around and observing the interior is possible, visitors may not enter the icehouse for safety reasons. At night, there are lights on around the ice storage, which makes viewing possible at anytime. It is located across from Cheongdoeupseong Walled Town, making it a good stop when visiting.
Cheongdoeupseong Walled Town (청도읍성)
48-1 Dongsang-ri, Hwayang-eup, Cheongdo-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do
The walled town was built during the Goryeo dynasty and has endured through the Joseon dynasty and to the present. The walled town was destroyed during a war in the mid-Joseon dynasty and demolished under Japanese colonial rule, but it was restored and reconstructed to what visitors see now. Its long walls on flat land are beautiful, and it is a popular walking trail for locals and travelers in the late spring and late summer. Regardless of gender or age, anyone can walk comfortably and easily on the smooth trail while enjoying the beauty of each season. In addition, visitors can have a cup of coffee at many unique cafes around the walled town while admiring the view of the walls.
