Hyanggyo Local Confucian Schools were government-run provincial schools established separately during Korea's Goryeo and Joseon periods. It was a place for achieving success in government or for holding ancestral rites. Cheongdohyanggyo Local Confucian School was first built in 1568 in the middle of the Joseon dynasty and has been relocated twice. This location is known as the burial place for Toegye Yi Hwang, the face of Korea's 1,000 won note and a historical figure who established Confucianism in Korea. One can see the shape of a tile-roofed hanok, and flowers and trees surround it, making it a nice place to stroll.

Cheongganjeong Pavilion (청간정)

Cheongganjeong Pavilion, located atop a cliff, was built during the mid-Joseon period. It is situated at the point where Cheonggancheon Stream, originating from Seoraksan and Cheonhusan Mountains, flows into the East Sea. The view of the pine forest and the East Sea draws many visitors. Nearby attractions include Cheongganhaebyeon Beach, Cheonjinhaebyeon Beach, Ayajinhaebyeon Beach, as well as Bongpo Port and Ayajin Port.

Cheonggong hanok stay is just 10-minutes’ walk from Gyeongju Bulguksa Station, on the Donghae Line, in Gyeongsangbuk-do. A traditional hanok built of timber and red clay bricks, this is a quiet and restful place. In the yard, visitors will find pine and other trees, garden plants and strangely-shaped rocks expressing harmony with each other, while beautiful flowers nestle in the field in front of the house. Each guestroom has a bathroom with toilet.

Cheonggye Farm is a petting farm, offering a hands-on dairy farming experience by reservation. It features a Milk School (education center), an outdoor experience center, a farm, an animal farm, and horseback riding stables. There are two types of experience programs available: Course A and Course B. Course A includes activities such as ice cream making, milking mother cows, bottle-feeding calves, and feeding cows. Course B focuses on making ice cream and bottle-feeding calves.

Cheonggyecheon Museum officially opened in October 2005. The museum’s long, glass exterior represents the flowing waters of Cheonggyecheon Stream, which runs through the heart of Seoul. The museum has a permanent exhibition hall, special exhibition hall, educational hall, and an auditorium. The museum contains visual representations of Seoul before and after the transition of Cheonggyecheon Stream. The permanent exhibition hall was remodeled in October 2015, and now offers even more ways to view the history of Seoul as shaped by Cheonggyecheon Stream.

Walking east along Cheonggyecheon Stream, which flows near Sewoon Plaza, you will see a cluster of small bookstores. Books published 30 to 50 years ago, and various out-of-date magazines are piled up in about ten bookstores. You can indirectly experience the old culture and history that formed the basis of K-content, and sometimes you can also find foreign books. Nearby is Dongdaemun Market, a wholesale market selling various subsidiary materials, and Pyounghwa Market (open from night to early morning), where you can browse clothing fabrics, which are excellent places to visit together.

Cheonggye Plaza was built on Sejong-ro Street, where Cheonggyecheon Stream begins. It was built between Dong-A Ilbo, the starting point of the Cheonggyecheon Stream restoration, and Sindap Railroad Bridge, with a length of 160 meters, a x_width of 50 meters, and a total area of 6,962 meters squared . The plaza is decorated with fountains, waterfalls, and walking paths. It was created as a place for meetings, harmony, peace, and unification, to celebrate the significance of the restoration of Cheonggyecheon Stream. A miniaturized version of Cheonggyecheon Stream is displayed here, providing an overview of the restored stream. There are also interpretive panels about the 22 bridges that cross Cheonggyecheon stream. Fountains of various shapes create beautiful scenery. Cheonggyecheon Stream is accessible from the square through stairs on the left and Cheonggye Trail on the right. There is also an 18-meter tunnel on the Cheonggye Trail, providing a unique experience for citizens entering Cheonggyecheon Stream from the plaza. After constructing Cheonggyecheon Plaza, the Seoul Metropolitan Government made it a car-free street on public holidays so that the plaza, waterside area, and streets could be used as cultural spaces for citizens to relax. A spectacular sight is created by three-color lights illuminating the fountains and a two-tiered waterfall coming down from a x_height of four meters. Palseokdam, made of eight stones from eight provinces in Korea, was laid along the waterfall's sides.
