Ganwolsan Mountain is a popular destination for hikers in the Ulsan and Busan area as well as other regions of Gyeongsangnam-do. In early August, the reeds and lilies near the summit create a splendid view. To the west, the deep Naerijeong and Wangbonggol Valleys channel clean water to Baenaegol Pass. From the Ganwolgogae Pass, hikers can follow the Singal Path to Wanbonggol Pass towards Paraeso Falls. There, visitors will find a cave called Jungnimgul, which is sacred Catholic ground often visited by the Catholic faithful. The first church built by Catholics in the Yeongnam region to escape persecution is found in Buldanggol Pass in Ganwolsan Mountain area. The tomb of Kim Agatha who died in persecution is also in the Ganwolgol Valley.

Ganwolsan Recreation Forest is situated northeast of Ganwolsan Mountain, often referred to as the Alps of Korea. This picturesque recreational forest boasts dense pine forests, royal azaleas, maple trees, and pristine valleys. Accommodation facilities within the woods, a campfire site, thirty forest experience courses, a water playground, a forest park, and a sports field enhance the visitor experience. Following the hiking trails leads to observatory, and there are excellent walking paths for forest bathing. Nearby, the picturesque Jakcheonjeonggyegok Valley, famous for its cherry blossoms lane, awaits exploration.

Gapado Island (가파도)

Gapado Island is Jeju's fourth largest island, located off the southwestern coast. The island is said to look like a ray swimming in the waves, giving the island its name. A bicycle rental shop is located right at the harbor, allowing visitors to tour the entire island in 1-2 hours. The best time to visit Gapado Island is in April and May, when the barley is ripe. The signature menu of this restaurant is yagyong bibimbap (medicinal bibimbap), which has rice cooked in water boiled with seven to eight medicinal herbs. The yagyong bibimbap features not only traditional bibimbap ingredients but also medicinal ingredients, such as chestnuts and jujube, which add flavor and health benefits. The restaurant also makes its own red chili paste, which gains a mild sweetness from apples, pear, and onions used in fermentation.

Gapsa Temple is located in the forested foothills of Gyeryongsan Mountain, 19 kilometers from Gongju and a three-hour walk from Donghaksa Temple. The temple is most beautiful during fall when surrounded by crimson foliage. Gapsa Temple was established by monk Adohwasang in 420, during the early Baekje Period. The temple's beauty allowed it to escape destruction many times, but it was ultimately burned down during the Imjin War (1592-1598). The current structures were built in 1604. Nearby attractions include Yongmunpokpo Falls, Sujeongbong Peak, and Cheonjinbotab Pagoda.

◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - "Vincenzo" It is a theme park that introduces Italian culture under the themes of 'Pinocchio' and Leonardo da Vinci, the representative Italian fairy tales. The Italian scenes in the drama were actually filmed in Italy and at this location. The Italian village is delicately reproduced to the extent that it is difficult to tell if it is not known. The 10.8 m high statue of Pinocchio standing at the entrance is a photo point. If you go up to the observatory, you can see the back of the statue and the lake in the distance.

Garam Choyeonjae stands within Hahoe Traditional Village in a loop of the beautiful Nakdonggang River in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Among Hahoe’s tile-roofed old houses, this one’s thatched roof stands out. ‘Garam’ was the pen name of the owner’s grandfather - a descendant of the Joseon scholar Seoae Ryu Seong-ryong - while ‘Choyeonjae’ means a thatched house where swallows live. The swallows’ nest is still there under the eaves, and sunset views from the wooden terrace of the sarangchae (men’s house) are a dreamy experience. Visitors can also learn about traditional technologies such as treadmills and millstones.
