Cheonnyeonae Gyeongjuppang Chalborippang Chalboritteok (천년애 경주빵 찰보리빵 찰보리떡)

Cheonnyeonae Gyeongjuppang Chalborippang Chalboritteok is located on Hwangnidan Street in Gyeongju. The building is designed in a hanok-style with an antique facade. The store's main products are chalboritteok and chalborippang, which are chewy barley rice cake and chewy barley bread, respectively. The store uses fresh barley that gets harvested every June and all products are made with barley. The chewy delicacies sold at this store have become a popular nutritious snack that represents Gyeongju.

Cheorwon Dopiansa Temple (도피안사(철원))
23, Dopidong-gil, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
Dopiansa Temple was built by the Buddhist Monk Doseon in 865, the 5th year of the reign of King Gyeongmun of the Unified Silla Period. Legend has it that Monk Doseon founded this temple because a 91 centimeter-tall iron seated Vairocana Buddha statue had disappeared while being carried to Anyangsa Temple in Cheorwon and was mysteriously found seated at the current site. The temple was named Dopiansa to indicate that the iron-made Buddha statue had reached “pian,” meaning an eternal place to rest. In addition to the legendary iron seated Variocana Buddha statue (National Treasure) made by Monk Doseon, the temple houses a 4.1 meter-tall three-story stone pagoda (Treasure).

Cheorwon Facilities Management Office (Formerly, Iron Triangle Battlefield (철원 시설물관리사업소 (구 철의삼각전적관))

Located in Goseokjeong National Tourism Site, Cheorwon Facilities Management Office is the main tourism center hosting the Cheorwon tour. Starting from Security Tourist Site Development Plan by Cheorwon-gun county in 1976 , the Ministry of Transportation designated Goseokjeong as Goseokjeong National Tourist Area in 1977. The military and Cheorwon-gun county carried out security and battlefield excavation and preservation projects, and established a security educational site featuring the national largest scale in 1985. Presently, the Iron Triangle Battlefield, located in Goseokjeong National Tourist Area, is used as a security educational site. Unification Hall found within houses various exhibitions, giving information to compare with current and past lifestyles and military devices including varied aircrafts displayed in the outdoor exhibition area. In the educational hall, a promotional video for Cheorwon is screened. Likewise, the exhibition hall covers various materials that allow one to think about unification between North Korea and South Korea.

Cheorwon Hantangang Milky Way Bridge (철원 한탄강 은하수교)

The area of Hantangang River is a UNESCO Global Geopark. The Milky Way Bridge was built to follow a natural path and allows visitors to journey comfortably. The name of the bridge takes from the famous Hantangang River and region of Cheorwon and adds eunhasu , or Milky Way, the path made of stars.

Cheorwon Hantangang River Ice Trekking Festival (철원 한탄강 얼음트레킹 축제)

Set amid the spectacular winter landscape of the Hantangang River, the Cheorwon Hantangang River Ice Trekking Festival is one of Cheorwon’s premier winter celebrations. The festival has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Korea Festival Contents Awards and was selected as an Outstanding Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for 2026–2027. Connected to the Hantangang River Mulwit-gil trekking course, the festival allows visitors to enjoy the river’s breathtaking snowy scenery while taking part in a variety of performances and winter-themed activities held throughout the festival period at the main venue beneath Seungilgyo Bridge. Special events, including the popular “Ttongbaram Altong Road Run," add to the festive atmosphere and excitement.

Cheorwon History and Culture Park (철원역사문화공원)

◎ Travel information to meet Hallyu’s charm - "Running Man" A park that recreates Cheorwon-eup's downtown area from the 1930s, when it was one of the three major cities in Gangwon State, with modern facilities. At Cheorwon Station, you can ride the monorail to Soisan Mountain. From the peak of Soisan Mountain, you can get a panoramic view of the vast Cheorwon plain. Like Yoo Jae-suk and Ji Seok-jin, who chose "GO!" you can walk, but if you prefer not to sweat, choose "STOP!" and ride the monorail comfortably.

Cheorwon Korean Workers' Party Headquarters (철원 노동당사)

This three-story building located in Cheorwon-eup was constructed in 1946. Used as the headquarters of the Labor Party until the break of the Korean War on June 25, it is now a tourist attraction that still holds onto the vestiges of the Korean War. Cheorwon Korean Workers' Party Headquarters is under the control of Cheorwon-gun Office as part of the Security Tour Course. Hundreds of thousands of people visit this tourist destination every year.

Cheorwon Peace Observatory (철원평화전망대)
588-14, Junggang-ri, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do
Cheorwon Peace Observatory offers a panoramic view of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea) in the central forward area of Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do. From this observatory, one can see the Cheorwon plain, areas of the DMZ, and even North Korea. Photos of the 2nd Tunnel, military barracks, checkpoints, and the DMZ are exhibited here. Visitors can easily get to the observatory using the 50-person monorail, see the remains of the ancient Taebongguk (nation), and even see the faces of North Korean soldiers through binoculars.
Cheorwon Plain (Migratory Bird Habitat) (철원평야(철새도래지))

After the fall harvest season, the fields of Cheorwon Plain are littered with fallen grains, providing an abundant source of food for migratory birds. Moreover, the well-preserved ecosystem of the Demilitarized Zone provides clean water and a healthy habitat, making the Cheorwon area a paradise for migratory birds. Cranes stalking around the fields and birds taking off en masse from the reservoir make bird watchers exclaim in awe. In Cheorwon, which boasts the biggest white-fronted goose population in Korea, visitors can see observe 110 species of birds, some of which are protected as national treasures. Examples include red-crowned cranes, vultures, white-tailed sea eagles, and golden eagles as well as mallards and spot-billed ducks, which migrate to Korea for the winter.

Chi-ong Art Center (취옹예술관)

The Chi-ong Art Museum is a cultural space spreading up the slope of Cheongnyeongsan Mountain in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi-do. The site incorporates an art gallery, meeting rooms, a Korean restaurant and hanok lodgings. Inside the lofty gate is a spacious yard, pavilion and pond, and a wooden veranda and tea room at the top. Visitors can experience a traditional tea ceremony, cloth dyeing, and mask making, rice cake and tofu makingl and boudoir handicrafts. With no TV or Internet, this is a place of peace and quiet.

Chiaksan Guryong Auto Campground (치악산 구룡자동차야영장)

Located within Chiaksan Mountain in Wonju, Chiaksan Guryong Auto Campground features sites for both auto camping and caravan camping, as well as a collection of small huts for accommodation. In the summer, the nearby valley is open to visitors, providing an opportunity to enjoy swimming in its natural waters. During the fall, the campground offers the experience of camping against the backdrop of Chiaksan Mountain adorned in vibrant autumn colors.
Chiaksan National Park (치악산국립공원)

Chiaksan Mountain has several peaks reaching x_heights of over 1,000 meters, including Namdaebong, Cheonjibong, Hyangnobong, Sambong, and Birobong Peak, the tallest of the peaks at 1,288 meters. Chiaksan National Park, designated in 1984, encompasses a 182.09 ㎢ area with a 14-kilometer trail connecting the peaks from Birobong Peak in the north to Namdaebong Peak in the south. In addition to these soaring peaks, the park also includes many deep valleys, unique rock formations, waterfalls, and tourist attractions. Some of the more popular destinations are Geumdaegyegok Valley, Taejongdae Rock, Seryeompokpo Falls, and Guryongsa Temple. The park draws in hikers all year round, with bright azaleas in spring, lush forests in summer, vibrant foliage in fall, and a white wonderland in winter.

Chiaksan Recreational Forest (치악산자연휴양림)

Chiaksan Recreational Forest is a national recreational facility situated in Chiaksan Mountain. It provides accommodations with capacities ranging from three to ten people. The facility is also equipped with outdoor observatories, walking trails, and hiking trails for nature enthusiasts. Each accommodation unit permits individual barbecues, apart from the Red Clay Room. Additionally, the facility offers a variety of experience programs, including the Guided Chiaksan Forest Tour and woodcraft experience programs, which are available outside the winter season.

CHIAMGOTAEK (치암고택)

Chiam Old House in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, was the home of Chiam Lee Man-hyeon, a Joseon official in the time of King Gojong, and is now a Gyeongsangbuk-do cultural treasure. Five of the buildings - Anchae, Sarangchae, Daemunchae, Byeoldangchae, and Byeolchae - have guestrooms, and reserving two or three rooms together enables visitors to feel they’re staying in a Joseon yangban’s house. Daemunchae has the best views over the house and surrounding landscape. The flower garden is a nice place to stroll and ponder the beauty of nature.
