This restaurant serves samgyetang made with ginseng purchased directly from Geumsan Ginseng Market. Made by simmering chicken with dried jujube, cheongung (cnidium), and other ingredients for an hour, this chicken soup has a large following among not only the locals but also the merchants and customers that visit the Geumsan Ginseng Market. You can also try samgyetang, made with other ingredients, such as abalone, shingled hedgehog, and cordyceps.
Geumsan World Insam Festival (금산세계인삼축제)

The Geumsan World K-Insam Festival is a well-being event that promotes the excellence of ginseng, an herb that strengthens the immune system against cancer and other diseases. Visitors can take part in health-related programs, including the red ginseng foot bath, Korean medicine therapy, and traditional massage at the Health Experience Hall. Visitors can also try foods made with ginseng and check out the various shapes that the medicinal plant comes in and its uses, including makgeolli (unrefined rice wine) and fries. There are booths for a wide variety of activities, such as ginseng harvesting and ginseng art, as well as performances that introduce Geumsan’s culture and traditions. Geumseongsanseong Fortress (담양 금성산성)

Geumseongsanseong Fortress in Geumseongsan Mountain (603m) forms a boundary between two small villages located on the border of two provinces (Geumseong-myeon, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do and Sunchang-gun, Jeollabuk-do) and is one of the three popular mountains of the Honam region (the Southwestern region of Korea that includes Jeollanam-do and Jeollabuk-do). The fortress is surrounded by two walls connecting Cheolmabong Peak, Undaebong Peak, and Jangdaebong Peak. The total length of the outer wall is 6.486 meters and inner wall is 859 meters. Historians are uncertain about the year the fortress was built, and have concluded that it dates back to the Three Kingdoms Period (57 BC – 676 AD) based on an examination of the ruins and remains discovered in the surrounding area. The fortress was reconstructed in 1409 and repaired in 1610 after the Imjin War (1592-1598). Geumwolbong Peak is a unique, small rocky mountain distinguished by its diverse shapes that blend a touch of artificiality with natural beauty. This site, initially a limestone mine, unveiled its striking rock formations in 1993. The resemblance of these rocks to the Manmulsang (Ten Thousand Rocks) of North Korea's Geumgangsan Mountain earned it the nickname "Little Geumgangsan Mountain." It was later officially renamed Geumwolbong Peak.
Geunpodonggul Cave (근포동굴)

Geunpo Village Tunnels, which recently became popular photo spots, are some of the five tunnels located on the beach behind Geunpo Village. It is recommended to take photos at sunset with the scenery outside the cave and the silhouette. Also, if you visit after rain, water will pool on the floor, allowing you to take better photos as it reflects the landscape.

Yeonhwari Hoetchon Village is located within 5 minutes by car from Daebyeon Port. Around 50 hoe (sliced raw fish) restaurants are in business around Yeonhwa Port, where visitors can enjoy the superb view of Jukdo Island. In particular, raw fish is cut in different shapes depending on the meat, and redfish is usually made thicker than white fish. White fish should be thinly sliced and soaked in cold water to fully enjoy it; as the meat shrinks, the texture is amazing. The chef's generosity and eloquence make the fish taste even more delicious and memorable.

Gildong Ecological Park (길동생태공원)

Gildong Ecological Park was founded by the Seoul government by restoring the wetland on the side of Cheonho-daero. The park maintains and preserves a wide range of flora and fauna in their natural habitats, allowing park visitors to observe plants, animals and insects in a natural ecosystem, and to learn about the importance of nature conservation. The 80,683 ㎡ park is divided into a wetland zone, forest zone, and grassland zone. Amenities include an outdoor classroom, outdoor exhibition space, observation deck, pergolas, and more. The bird observation platform in particular is a great way to birdwatch in the urban landscape.
